The new porta even gives better skin tone. This 160VC is expired already and no longer in production.

Cheap and good.
So far this is still one of the best options out there.

A friend of mine tried a plastic white plate and was quite happy with it, though I can't say he's an 'advanced' macro shooter.
Nonetheless, I saw one sample pict and it looked good.
So maybe thats an option too over the styrofoam one which breaks apart.

I got mine from IKEA, creases like hell, don't know if somewhere else sells cheaper or better cloth. (textile center??)

Mine also crease like hell. But I found that if u get enough studio clippers n pull n clip to the poles n tape the remaining nicely on the ground . The crease can be reduce significantly
