Of course dont mind bro. The weather was so rainy that day most of the original photo was grey. My first thoughts was to do black n white but it look a little flat and boring. Thats why i go dramatic on the colours.

Fwah your daughter's got attitude man! :)

Newbie question: what is the advantage of the flash thru the brolly rather than just bouncing off the ceiling?

Yeah, she sure has attitude. Always scold me :D :D

Bounce works pretty well too in most cases.

For me, the differences are :
1. More directional control, though it far better with softbox.
2. Less flash power used (ie. recycle time)
3. Works if the walls are not white colored
4. Can control softness of light and shadows better.
5. Catchlights
6. Bounce may not work properly if the room is cluttered (ie. book shelves; wall photos; furniture; murals; paintings; etc)

The star light look seductive . The path look promising . However behind every 1 success gambler , there are thousands and thousands of sad stories to be told.
Self control is a key words in the gamble world . But how many really does understand that...

When the race is over when the crowd had gone home. What left behind are a track waiting for his next chance to perform.
Be it a few weeks , be it a few months, the cheering and excitment will bring the track to live in no time.

Just like Pinholecam I was stuck at home during the weekend as well, hence turned to my 3.5mo daughter to get my photographic fix. I'm a complete newbie at portraiture & flash photography in general, therefore any comments or technical feedback to help me improve will be greatly appreciated as always. Here's one of the more presentable ones IMHO. Thanks!

Shot using the Pentax DFA50mm f2.8 macro wide open with a Metz 50AF bounced off the ceiling (iso200, 1/30s, flash +0.7ev).

Very nice images of the Marina area, Simon. Great light in #173 - I prefer cropping off the bottom though.

#174 is very well composed. :)

Swee! It looks so much better here than on facebook. Btw for "Gambler Seduction" the EXIF info says you used a 35mm at f2.4 and 1/160th speed. Surely cannot be as water looks quite smooth...

Perfect! Especially the first one.

hi ankaka , thanks :)

yo bro, if you look at all my photo Exif you will find that all my photo was taken on the same date with a 35mm f2.4. Ha. Cos that's the PHoto I use to create my template . I usually Drag my photo over to the template frame . Hence the lost of the exit. ;)
