Thanks.

It's not too bad, slightly inferior to the Sigma 10-20mm but only marginally. The problems are the corners, which are not an issue to me, I guess (since I hardly place elements there).

ya alot of what is heard and said, maybe user problem cuz I've been told about how shitty this tamron 10-24 is and petax 18-135 is. Maybe user got **** eyed so cannot blame hahaha

yes... might reduce one's options slightly since have to be mindful of the corners but i agree with u... nothing that careful composition can't solve. the focal range of up to 24mm does make it a more versatile "walkabout" lens

i think its fair for reviewers to bring up such issues. sometimes its not just "pixel peeping" or "nit-picking", but matter of fact reporting of certain user observations. wide lenses often have some distortion on the wide end so this is not a surprise at all. and not all lenses have good corner sharpness.

most importantly, these things affect different users in different ways and a skillful user knows how to make the best of his/her equipment :)

Eh, it's abstract enough I can't guess what it is! Neat work man.

K-5 just arrived back from servicing (mirror overrun problem) although it might not be totally fixed yet.. Anyway, I'm really excited to shoot with it again, especially after I bought a couple of new lenses while it was away.

Here's one with a really really wide lens.. the Rokinon 8mm fisheye

Hi all, i have owned the Pentax DA 18-135 WR lens for a few weeks now... but i was amazed at how sharp this lens could be today....

No PP done, No sharpening done. Handheld shot

Only cropped it to show the sharpness of the bee. Dont be fooled... Its a small bee, a little smaller than a 20cent coin. This is a very small flower...

Just got a new tripod from Canon guys, Canon T4-3511;

very stable tripod, as good as those branded one.

Proved with shot at Night at f8 with 400mm telephoto lens, it is usable to get sharp result with the tripod setup.

All shost shot with Pentax Kx and Tokina 400mm f5.6 manual prime lens, ISO 800, aperture f8, shutter between 1 sec to 2 sec,

Actuall working distance to subject, 10meter to 13 meter.

that's awesome! I've rarely gone beyond 1600 on my k-x. Is the high iso capability of the K5 that much better? was any fancy noise reduction done in post for these 2 photos?

I normally do not do noise reduction as it will cause loss in details, contrally I will sharpen and crop a bit which may cause noise to be more obvious

Here is one at iso 1600 which hardly any noise at all

Probably will try some at iso 10000 over the coming weekend
