Photos taken by Pentax cameras for tech. discussion - Season I

Oh. Man. Hope you're ok, seems like it.

You shot it with your Pentax?

yup. ok lah, I didn't really crash into the bench, haha. The bench was at that state when I was there, so I just had to place my bike into the rubble and take pictures of the "disaster". :P

Seems like this will be the last photo for this little kitty as someone saw somebody took this kitty away leaving the mama cat lying on floor everyday mood less

Aww, that's sad for mama kitty. But nice photo, the framing is good, with the biscuits lying around. Did you arrange the biscuits for the photo by chance?

Thanks! No, the biscuits was fed by my neighbour. I dare not arrange it as i afraid i might scared the kitten.

Share some shots taken at Bukit Tinggi (KL, 700km from SG) during last weekend.
Quite a no. of shots at high iso cos lighting was pretty bad as it rained for 2 afternoons & morning lighting is not good either.

Silver Breasted Broadbill (female) @iso 400 at risk of very slow shutter speed of 1/60s

Silver Breasted Broadbill (male) @iso 3200

Oriental Magpie Robin (female) @iso 4000
1/800s was used for action shots...

Blue & White Flycatcher @iso320
so far the lowest iso which I risked to shoot at very low shutter speed of 1/125s for action shots.

Our group photo...(not taken by Pentax though..think it's 1D Mark 4)

Hi Ken,
The K5 + Sigma 500mm f4.5 lens works very well, all your shots are well taken even in low light and shots by high iso.
There are all very clean and nice. Thanks for sharing!

dude, these shots are awesome man!:thumbsup:

Taken at KTP Hospital with the Pentax K-r and DAL 55-300mm lens. This is my first experience with Pentax equipment. The lighting at evening was quite bad, but I was pleasantly surprised by the high ISO capability of the K-r and the sharpness of a humble DAL 55-300mm lens even at wide open.

Calvinlo, wow, that's a nice yellow oriole.

A picture of Victoria bridge, back to my last year of study in Brisbane, any Pentax users there do let me know, can meet up for some photographing session.

Picture by the under-rated 16-45mm lens. A walkabout lens for me paired together with my new Tamron 28-75mm, i know there is a overlap. But i just can't seem to let it go, maybe i shall wait for the patented DA 12-35mm WR (if it does comes to the market). The 16-45 good for a wide angle zoom with very little barrel distortion, though not as sharp as my Tamron lens, it seems to provide me with good image quality. Whatsmore it is just slightly bigger than the kit lens.

With the ISO capability of the K-r; shots like this are possible in a dark room, although the focus is abit screwed. (ISO1600, i find it to be a sweetspot for me, image quality are quite good at this setting]

If you haven't got money for the DA* 16-50, this is a pretty neat lens!

*I think it is the second cheapest DA lens by Pentax after the 35mm if i am not wrong.

I feel both lens the colors about the same.
Are you comparing the same bird?

Here's the same bird shot by the Sigma 500mm prime & DA*300

is there an exposure difference b/w the 2 shots? becos IMHO the DA* shot looks more vibrant...
