feel free to comment. wish to learn more.

Nice shots and exposure is good.

For #1, I think the floating jetty is obstructing the view beyond it. It need not be so. Find higher ground so that you see some water between jetty and cityscape so that it forms a separation between them. It will (if composed right) help to lead the viewer into the cityscape. Another option is to simply go closer and make the jetty the subject, and then leading the eye to the cityscape. Yet another is to totally leave the jetty out or find another angle that works better. ;)

#2 looks fine. Maybe some tilt that needs correction

My few cents.

1st one has my vote. but somehow I do feel the dock is blocking the nice view. But wat to do, can move that thing at all. hehe.

the 2nd, common compo already for me. Maybe try a very diff angle next time.

This is really unbelievably good for a kit lens.

the 55-300, be it the DA or DAL variant, you'll have to try it to know how good it performs

Would like to thank figo007 for showing me the location of this bird.
I brought the DAL 55-300, Sigma 150-500 & the DA*300, didn't use the DAL 55-300 cos lending to figo007 to try out & comapre with his FAJ 70-300.
In the end I still love the pics taken by the DA*300. ;p

Shot today evening at upper seletar reservoir and often have the robberfly within this area.
A200 f4, M mode, single flash light with diffusers with tripod and monopod.

marcus

Cik Marcus, those shots power la!

Btw, A200 f4 is a Macro lens?
Coz I have been thinking should I just get another macro lens. Coz I only got the Samsung 100mm DXenon. Tamron 28-75 2.8 isnt even a true macro. Feel like wanna try manual macro lens.
