Photographers needed to cover Bday Party

T-shirt??? Nah I wouldn't spend that money.

I would wear my oldest t-shirt, maby wear it for a run, not wash it, and my most worn out pair of jeans(holes galor), not shave for about a week. Find a piece of cardboard some string hang it round my neck and have written on it "Working for free cos the host is too cheap to pay me". Just like the homeless guys in the US.

Can't believe the nerve of some people. But I am sure there will be some clown in here who will do it for free.

If you are one of them and you are reading this.

DON"T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!:nono:

It's a birthday party, if you are free and wish to shoot, just PM me.

If you folks think you are so professional and only shoot for dollars and cents, please by all means go ahead. Why bother with my thread in the first place. Go shoot and make your money.

These days, people who hold a digital camera suddenly feel they are so professional and everytime they press the shutter they should be compensated monetarily.
Geez people.

it's the way you phrased your first post...:)

pluzzz most of the rich are the mostest cheapskatest
I have seen lexus bmws merc double parked or parked illegally causing great inconvenience to motorists who jus want to use the road.. their money is mostly spent on things that let other ppl know they are rich
my neighbour opposite me, driveway is big enough for 4 cars, and yet he chooses to park his merc at the pavement outside my house.

I dont see anything wrong with 'how i phrased it'.

I stated what kind of 'event' it is, stated clearly beforehand it isn't paid (so all those interested in the green and who are professionals won't waste their time replying here nor contacting me), stated venue, date and time (so that those who might be interested can check if they are free) and if interested, pm me with contact details (so I can contact you back with more details).

I will do it for free.... as long as i get some cake.... but will be using my mobile phone to take the pics...

Not bad, you quite generous. I will use my Casio QV-700! At least its a digital camera.

I am sure you are catering food and drink for this party and quite a bit of money is being spent on this party, unless yo have managed to get all of that for free.

You want someone to shoot for free and you still want to look at a portfolio? That's asking a little much isn't it? You want someone who knows what they are doing and yet not willing to pay them, not even a token fee? What's more you want 2 photographers not 1?

And so what if it is a birthday party, what has that got to do with anything.

Give me a break!!!

your first two paragraphs make sense, "tone" aside, if any.

the last paragraph is the one that makes u an asshole. u may be right in some instances, but there are plenty of struggling full timers out there that would hack you up to pieces.

anywayz, i'll try to be nice.

asking for free photography in clubsnap is bound to create havoc. perhaps you are new and don't know yet, but now u know. sure, u can ask, and i'm SURE u'll get it free, plenty of pple willing to do it for free, and no, i can't think of a more subtle way to do it than open a thread like you have, but coming across WITHOUT SHAME and as if it's your RIGHT makes you the offensive party.

have fun at the 21st, yours or not.

Ah I am sorry to have offended with

- my concise details.
- my request to view your online portfolio or albums (as mentioned, if any, ie. no obligations) since having a portfolio automatically means you are professional and won't be shooting for free.
- assuming everyone would have considered that this is not my own bday coverage (please, i wish i was 21 again too).
- assuming everyone would understand that not being paid simply means getting money, vs. being starved and not even offered a drink or piece of cake whilst there at the party.
- assuming that people still shoot for fun and that it is not always about creating the portfolio.
- the fact that asking fellow photography enthusiasts to help shoot a party for free implicates them as clowns.

Yes your reputation precedes you and I must say I love some of your work. But that is besides the point.

It is not a right and I never came across that way.
It is the mindset of those who posted before yourself that insinuates that.

as i said, enjoy the party dude.

but you do photography as well right?so why not do it for your friend? Your previous threads did show your work and it isn't too bad. why the need for not just 1 but 2 photographers?it's only a birthday celebration.

If it matters, that last para as you said; it was not targetting true professionals in my eyes who are trying their very best to get by. You, I respect for your work. And I don't even know you.

It's for those whose egos are miles ahead of their photography. Whom just by their very words, shows.

many thanx for your compliments, altho u're right, it's not the point here!

i dunno how else to put it except that requesting for free work in cs ruffles feathers (not necessarily mine) and usually helps when it's done with plenty of sugar and spice... anywayz, i would think u'd gotten quite a few PMs by now.

Thank you for the compliments. Yes, I am helping my friend cover her birthday but the location is quite large and I would not be able to cover it as good myself as if I had 2 fellow friends to help me out on the day itself.

i don't think that's necessary.. that's just my opinion. we (wedding photogs) cover 20-100 table weddings singlehandedly... not that we are good to cover so much ground in so little time, but i guess knowing where to be at the right time, mostly it's near the VIPs.. in ur case, the bday girl, cos everyone will be around her.

also, for a casual occasion as this (i assume) having 3 (inexperienced?) photogs running around the place could cause more hindrance than help. guests at such occasions might not be used to intrusive lens (times 3), whereas at higher profile events like corporate annual dinners and wedding banquets, pple are used to having cameras around.

just trying to help man, i feel apologetic for going off my mouth just now, when i read back seems harsh, and now i can't edit my post ahahhaha.. i do that sometimes.

but that doesn't mean i advocate asking for free photography!

It really depends on the context, in my opinion at least.

And thanks for that, they are points I will ponder over. :)

geez i don't get it why ppl just won't do somethings for free and when they need help the next time round they'll get it too?:dunno: anyway streetlight i've pmed you if you're intersted
