Hi drumma, I wasn't 'attacking' anyone. I just felt that the offer is put up, those who wants to take it up, so be it.

You point is correct too that both the organiser & photographer need to be educated.
But so what is both are educated? It's still a business deal. You can educated someone, but whether the person put into application what has been taught to him or not is beyond your control.

With regards to pride, each has a different definition and put different value to it.

If someone has a family to feed, and this $150 can make a different in his family life, pride is of a low or no value.

To me, my family well being is my pride.

And to answer your last question. No, I am not a professional photographer. I am just what others will call a hobbyist.

Professional photographer.... it's just another name given by others.

You sound like you are a pro yourself.

i'm for the idea of having a free choice to whether one wants to take up a job at any rates, but i think some education needs to be done for both the organiser and photographer.

if a photog has any pride in her work at all, or thinks that he/she is just worth $150, go ahead.

btw to kevyan, are u a professional photographer? I'm just curious.

Meaning One: Suit your budget
Meaning Two: Price you pay DO determine the quality of work.
Intention One: Not to spoil market.
Intention Two: Create a platform/exposure for newbies to learn while educating them on- Quality=Price...
(Hope I put all this correctly..hmmm... just my perception but feel free to share your point of view)

hello guys, i got notified of this thread too late, i guess.... well... i belif so.



anyway, this is the real world.

i've encounter many 'fotographers' who are willing to shoot for free, or even for $$ that is lesser than the S$150 stated here for 8-9hrs worth of work.

grow up ppl. it is up to the individual to ascertain whether such 'low' paying job is suitable for their own image, branding etc.

like it or not, i will get rid of threads that totally n outrightly exploit fotographers. this is still a paying job, some ppl do really need the S$150, and perhaps even think the world of it, no matter wat most of u ppl here think.

it just might be their own niche market. who knows?????
