It was the last line, after all the details talking and focusing about the tSUNAMI dISASTER that caught my attention.
Is the objective still directed in a focused manner towards helping the Tsunami victims and the rebuilding after the aftermath ... since their message was headlined under "TSUNAMI DISASTER APPEAL" towards the said disaster per se, or will it be part of a generic effort to build up funds for the Salvation Army for use at their discretion, "NOT SPECIFICALLY FOR THE TSUNAMI DISASTER" ... :dunno:
I'm sorry if I sound particular about details...but why was the above details SPECIFICALLY put up on their website under the headline of "TSUNAMI DISASTER APPEAL", cafterwhich followed very specific details of how one can go about making donations and contributions towards the mentioned cause?
I know this effort started in absoulte earnest and out of generosity ... PLEASE know that I do not call into question any of the organisers' well-meaning and generous intentions or objectives.
I'm just concerned if you know exactly WHY and for WHOM you're doing what you're doing...and where the money is going to ...
Since so much enthusiasm and long hours of sweat and tears have been spent in this effort, could the organisers get the Red Cross to clarify 'exactly what is this charity drive for now', since it is obvious from their own publicised statement, albeit, only in the VERY LAST LINE of their appeal, that is may very well not be for the Tsunami Disaster Victims anymore.
I do not debunk charity efforts. I only know that we have limited time and resources, and sometimes, hard choices have to be made ... how else can we choose which effort is more 'urgent' or 'necessary'?
GIVE, out of the kindness of your heart, but not if you get blinded along the way ... Afterall, if you get blinded, and your heart (and wallets) have been emptied, how can you continue to give from whatever limited resources you have?
