You don't need a macro lens to do shots of flowers/plants/birds. Just bring what you have.

but the 55-300 really not detail enough... only have kit lens any advice? have try f8 - F16... anything else have to take note? (hope to get some tips, he he....)

Sorry had to miss the previous one because of too many sleepless nights due to work X_x

Not sure which lens should i bring along, have the Tamron 17-50 and Pentax 50-200, should i bring both? Have never tried taking macro shots, not sure which would be good..

55-300 not enough? Well I think it kinda suffice for me for birding and I think the sharpness for this kit telephoto lens is reasonably good.

It's my favourite lens to use to take non-macro shots of flora & fauna :thumbsup:

Hi guys, I have been wanting to take photos of sunrise at the Seletar reservoir for ages but my discipline to wake up early in the morning has been lacking.

Since this month's outing is set at Mandai, I am thinking of fulfilling this desire. I would be driving to the outing so any Pentaxian interested in this venture? Pick up from Yew Tee MRT as per previous outing. We need to be there by 630am before the sunrise.

I think a monopod would be more useful for your 55-500 instead but not a MUST have. Leave your tripod at home and travel light lah.
