Submitted mine.
Not sure if its within topic though :)

I just submitted my entry but I didn't including a description.

I am afraid that the recipient can't relate my photo to the theme.

What should I do?

Hi guys,

I'm sorry we didn't notify the entries soon enough. But please stay asured that your entries have been received (if you sent to the right address ;)), and will be replied within 24 hours.

And please don't by shy shy. Just submit the one you like the best. You know the DA18-135 could be yours. Who knows ;)

We can't notify each and everyone of you here at the forum. But you'd receive an email within 24 hours after submission.

Cheers and good luck to all.

That's right, participation is important:)
I had a little outing together with Cheong and opra58 on Saturday. Nice and relaxing one. I will pick up one from this outing and submit tonight.
Guys, good luck!

I don't know what the rules are relating to that, but personally, a photograph with a long description to link it to the theme is like a joke where you have to explain to people what the joke is about. Certain photographs (especially when it relates to photojournalism) do go hand in hand with some form of prose or write-up, but essentially at the end of the day, a photograph should still be able to stand on its own.

mine is quite crappy... so i think i dun want to embarrass myself... :bsmilie:

Hahaha ... ok, mine's really feels like it's 文不對題, no wonder I have to write up.

Wait till you see mine! All my planned shots end up in the recycle bin.

err.. at least u plan... i take train down to city just hope to catch something, walk around 10 mins, wife call ask me buy breakfast... and i got 2 events to attend to... and my whole day is over just like that... maybe i should submit a self portrait... my life in this city... :bsmilie:

Took some photos of my school kids but did not seem to have one that goes "oomph"

ah thanks for the insight.

actually i was thinking of a single sentence rather than a long description, but I do agree with what you said.
sorry for the noobish question I posed, I am rather new in the scene.

cheers!

Me too...
Not only crappy, I don't know what I was shooting.

I was thinking about what Creampuff said, and really thought about it when I was on my way home from work ...

Many possibilities mah ... Shoot wayang pple painting their faces, shoot chinese puppet show, shoot getai, shoot CC celebrations, shoot ah nay flipping roti prata, shoot ppl queuing to buy Toto and 4D, shoot lion dance performance, shoot auntie praying and all the rest of the crowd in the temple jostle for space in a crowded temple.

I just know how to talk and talk, when execute, all fail ... :bsmilie:

all the best to all! looking forward to see all the different entries. :)

Similar story ..

Had a one hour time plus slot in between errands to do this. Grab the camera, got into the car and did not had a clue where to go.

Finally, went to an easy accessible place and shot crap.

Time also flies when shooting crap...it was over before I even knew it.
