What has going to the zoo have anything to do with being RICH? :dunno:
i dunno leh, there are ways to go zoo for free, like win contest, borrow corporate card.......
maybe youngmoneh is really young, he thinks that going zoo means you need to buy the lion there? :bsmilie:
Share my experience at the zoo ... This was on the last Saturday of January this year, when the weather was still very hot...
...By the time you are ready to move on to other parts, the weather was very hot. So keep yourself well hydrated. Drinks can be expensive for students or even working adults, unless your father is Ong Beng Seng. $2 - $3 for a small 500ml bottled drink...
By time finished going through a few enclosures, was already tired, decided to take the tram to select the ones we really want to shoot.
If it is a really hot day, forget about seeing the polar bear, unless the keepers coax him out, because all you'll ever see is an empty water enclosure...
Remember to not lose the map to the zoo which will be given to you at the entrance...
Be warned for those who has never been there, there'll be slopes to climb. Wear cool and light colored clothing so you won't be hot and bothered. Bring extra large bottles of water, and keep it cool if you can. Wear sensible foot gear...

Share my experience at the zoo ... This was on the last Saturday of January this year, when the weather was still very hot.
Was there at the entrance @ 8.15 to buy tickets. Wife goes in free but i had to pay ... Lucky her.
Went in, headed straight to the white tiger enclosure. Started to setup, and then began the waiting game ... waited, and waited, and voila, the keepers came out first to clean the enclosure area. Wasn't until about 9 then the 3 white tigers came out lazily, and boy, the man-killer (for those who remembered about the death of one of the keepers by the white tiger), will keep pacing up and down the enclosure looking hungry. The other 2, would be just relaxing and lying around lazily. Instead of roaring, you'll get snaps of yawning!
Once past 9am, and if you hadn't chosen the spot you wanted, you'll be fighting with other visitors, with kids and families, trying to see and capture the white cat. When I was there, there was this rude PG who kept pushing into my space and pushing me out. Though I'm a big sized person, I'm a little timid at times, so I just couldn't be bothered to start a tiff with him. He should know better to ask.
Spent more than 2 hours at the enclosure, you'll bound to catch one of them swimming in the water, or worse, taking a dump! Caught that as well. By the time you are ready to move on to other parts, the weather was very hot. So keep yourself well hydrated. Drinks can be expensive for students or even working adults, unless your father is Ong Beng Seng. $2 - $3 for a small 500ml bottled drink.

Remember to not lose the map to the zoo which will be given to you at the entrance. Here is a jpg version of it, and you can determine where you guys want to shoot. http://www.zoo.com.sg/images/innova_images/New Zoo map 17_A_path.jpg
Sorry if the map is too big, but its off the zoo's website.
Be warned for those who has never been there, there'll be slopes to climb. Wear cool and light colored clothing so you won't be hot and bothered. Bring extra large bottles of water, and keep it cool if you can. Wear sensible foot gear.
Sorry for droning on and on, but just a guide to help those who are about to go there to shoot for the first time. Last but not least, enjoy the shoot, and happy hunting! Just don't skin and bring back any of the animals pelt!

I am always intrigued by the fantastic photo taken by feng wei & arthur (in beijing) in the zoo. this outing is another opportunity to follow the sifu. thanks "dingaroo" for the nice map. really good for planning our shooting sequence.
Heihei, you can test out your new 300mm lens liao.
Here are some photos from one of my zoo adventures:

Don't be fooled by the photos.
You remember Kung Fu Panda?
It's part of the zoo performance, but due to the snake being too enthusiastic, it’s killed the frog. So the show suspended till suitable frog is found.:bsmilie:
Haha, they probably should move the show to somewhere like Ubin, a lot frogs there :bsmilie:
Hmm, thought it over, there are a lot snakes there too ...
Good idea.
Next trip, Ubin revisit since I missed the first round.
This time, frog bite snake show in seafood restaurant.;p
