My MIJ Toshiba TV fell apart within 1.5yr (big deal! to MIJ)
IMO, MIxxx is just snobbish unless it can be proven empirically that its indeed better.
As long as a company adheres to the QA and process standards, there is little difference.


RichHigh is full of bull. He does not even post photos (other than so call tests). Just stupid conjectures. Don't even go to his website. It just helps him chalk up the site hits so that it appears frequently on web searches.

Someone just offered this lens to me at $500. 6mths warranty left. Condition is excellent according to seller. But being a newbie to DSLR, I am not sure is this item is over-priced or value for $$$. All I know is that it is sold out in Singapore. Shd I take the plunge at this price?

I just got mine 3 weeks ago from SLRR at $546.
Definitely better to get a Brand New one.
Can call SLRR to ask them to call you when stocks come in.
They usually re-stock quite fast.

According to Ray , he did told me sometime the stock is very low .

I got my FA50mm F1.4 from Manly 1 mth ago at $546.... It is a superb lens to me... I use it alot to take potrait pics and pets (indoors, low light).... I am saving up to buy my next lens... LOL....

its not the first time its happened this year for the FA 50...

if don't have, just order and wait lor... of course, can also order from overseas if u MUST have it within 1-2 weeks.

The other time they quoted me $493 but said stocks are out.

So I left them my number.

And them few days later they called me to say stocks are in.
And I just said " Oh ok, Thanks! "
And asked if they were open that Friday as it was a Public Holiday.

Went down on Friday and Ray told me stocks are out.
Then Jason came to ask if I'm Joyce & said he reserved for me a pc when I did not request for it.

I was considering either the White / Red.
LOVE the White, but was so afraid that the White will turn Yellow after a period of time.

Went Funan.
Wanted to get my K-x from SLRR.
But their dry cabinets are the analog display kind.

So I went AP instead.
And got all that I need that with a lil discount here & there exactly for 1K.

AP had White & Black at that time.
So HECK, I just got the White.

But kind of regretted it now already.
Should have gotten the Red instead.
Because White is like so common beside the Black.

Me too wanted to get the red in the 1st place but when I was at SLRR having a close comparison between the white and the red, the red seems a bit pinkish to me. So ended up choosing the white.

I do find the Red a bit Pinkish. but maybe its ok for some.

FA50mm 1.4 now at $546!? well, not surprise since that lens is like hot cakes same as 55-300mm. I bought my FA50mm from CP Peninsula. It was last set also and higher price than previous SLR R and Manly quoted.

Though I find that we are to blame for this price hike. When someone posted 50mm 1.4 is great, so many people wanted it till no stock and the price went up again, then same for 55-300, also no stock till now. lol.

Then everyone selling off their 50-200mm like pisang goreng in BnS. hahaha.
