Pentax Luna New Year Promotion - K-7 for $13xx, Twin WR Kit Lenses for $439SGD!

Getting a k7 is a no-brainer gievn the current promotion. Some are actually banging their heads for getting the k-x just before the promotion. (Sorry, I am not trying to rub it in, just making a point).

:mad2:

OT a bit.

those looking for a glass protector for their lcd can try this brand

http://stores.ebay.com/onlinefred62...ed62QQ_sidZ89627956?_nkw=pentax&submit=Search

it is more professional looking than GGS as it does not have any marking (GGS logo) on the glass. the edge is trimmed with chrome. a bit more expensive that other though.

I used one for my kx, and application is quite easy but do make sure no dust will be trapped

Hi to all, I have been reading about the k-7 recent promotions is a good deal. However, as I am buying my 1st DSLR, and I am aiming to get the K-x. Is the k-7 really more worthwhile? For a 1st time user, is k-7 has a higher learning curve? I like the k-x, for it's iso performance n the colours ( asking my friend to help me get it in japan, hopefully able to get the international warranty.)
I was looking on getting the pentax 50mm/f1.4 or the tamron 17-50mm f2.8, so if I am sway with the k-7 promotion, then this will have to be bought in future.

Honestly, imho its a mixed bag.
I like the K7 for the lower ISO range (100), the faster access to settings via the numerous buttons, the tighter AF confirm for manual lenses, electronic level indicator, higher build standard. However, Kx is cheaper and better in high ISO JPEG noise reduction.

So depends on what you want. End of the day, I wouldn't regret getting either.

Ah, is the k-7 iso level as good as a nikon d90? It was suppose to be my choice until k-x came out.
Hmmm I really have to slowly consider on this. By the way, where can I have a feel of the k-7? Will slr revo or op have stock to have a feel? I had try using the nikon d90, had a feel of the k-x, (it feel light n good to bring for travel).

I sold my Nikon D-80, all the Nikon lens, and bot myself a Pentax K-x 18-55mm, 55-300mm for SGD $1168 including shipping. Also bot a Tamron 10-24mm Pentax mount after selling my Tamron 10-24mm Nikon mount. Really happy. Otherwise, upgrade to Nikon D90 beyond budget and no better than the Pentax K-x high iso results. I also got a Pentax 50mm 1.4 for SGD $$210.

OP just update K7 deal,$1777 with 2 WR kit lens.

But do the Daiso ones come off easily without leaving any mark? Do they also stay put without peeling off soon enough at the corners? Other than size, why are the Daiso ones not so good? I was thinking of the Daiso ones myself cuz I had seen them on an earlier visit at just $2 and I thought they were available cheap... so am glad I saw this thread.

Daiso ones will peel off at the corners a few months later after you have applied it,

Those who're eyeing, don't hesitate anymore!

OP's current K-7 + twin WR kit price is less than what I paid for the body alone... quick, jump.... over!! :D

Hi bro,

this sells in Singapore? Which shop? or have to go thru ebay?

Please advise.

TQ

I called up OP and they quoted $20 for the GSS, quite ex.. Thinking whether its worthwhile to get it or not..

For scree protector I'd either choose no proetctor or a better quality one. Those $2 one just can't make it for me. Our cameras have some of the best LCD screens out there, why put a piece of cheap plastic on top of it? If you are afraid of scratching the screen, at least get something like GGS screen. It's cheap (less than $10sgd) and good.

Think I'll just order through ebay. Cheaper and saves me the trip to SLS, and I'm in no hurry, the slightly-too-small-from-Daison screen protector should last me a couple of weeks :D

that's steep, i got mine for 5-6 pounds here, delivered by mail.

edit: oops, looks like the price has gone up since then, or that time was a one time offer. it's 8.95 GBP now.

try ordering from ebay in hong kong? :)

You can get the GSS screen protector from Benphoto at Peninsular Shopping Centre (Coleman St). When I bought mine a few months ago, they were selling it for $10 while OP was selling for $20. I don't think the price has increased since...

One thing to note is that although this screen protector (made of glass) provides very good protection - it is really really scratch proof - it is very reflective. Defeats the benefit of anti-reflective coating on the K-7 LCD screen. I have since removed the GSS and now use the normal screen protector.
