Pentax Luna New Year Promotion - K-7 for $13xx, Twin WR Kit Lenses for $439SGD!

...because they are thin, tend to accumulate bubbles during installation...

Hmmm... try this and see if it works the next time you apply these films onto your camera's LCD screen:

Use the smaller side/edge of your ATM card or CREDIT card and move it against the film in an outward motion... i.e. start from the center and move outwards towards the edges. Hold the card at a 45 degree angle while doing so.

Then post here and let us know if this helped to remove some, most of or all the air bubbles.

I guess this technique will work for most good quality screen protectors... haven't personally tried this with the Daiso ones yet... but the technique I outlined above does work very effectively with the good quality brands.

If buying from Daiso, buy the big ones for laptop/netbook screens, and cut whatever size you need! Also $2! Great if you want to use on your K20D/K7 top LCD display and your external flash units as well. Can replace till you're sian also haven't finish using that one piece. ;)

For scree protector I'd either choose no proetctor or a better quality one. Those $2 one just can't make it for me. Our cameras have some of the best LCD screens out there, why put a piece of cheap plastic on top of it? If you are afraid of scratching the screen, at least get something like GGS screen. It's cheap (less than $10sgd) and good.

True ah. The screen protector in front of your LCD is analogous to the filter in front of your lens!!!

i second this.

with the caution that you must put it on properly, else it is going to spoil if you try to reapply. :) after all, it's windscreen glass.

What is GSS screen?

Don't know about Daiso plastic screens, but I once tried to be stingy and relied on the plastic slip that came on my Canon powershot, and ended up having a deep nick on the screen as it was not hard enough to resist cuts from hard objects (eg. keys/coins in pocket)

Bro how much they selling for? I might go there later.

can call them!

i have their number still :P

can make sure that they have the screen that you want. they custom make it for individual camera models.

It's $289 for K7 buyers/owners, less than 50% of its original price. You can always ask some one to help w/ the purchase :)

I deliberately stayed away from this thread for a few days as it created a buying urge in me for no logical reason. But finally still came back in to have a look.

Saw the price for the 50-200..it looks good. I did not know that they can seperate the 50-200WR from the kit.

Actually how does this work? You need to bring a K-7 to the shop to get it?

Maybe need to beg and borrow a K-& then.

Is there any other promotion for lens - the 55-300??

The deal is: you need to show prove of owning a K7 which is bought locally so to get this promotion. But I guess you'd eventually be able to buy at this price if the shop still got quite a few stock left ;)

Don't think there will be a promotion for other items at the moment. I think Emjay is just trying to push the sale of K7 at the moment, not the others. This bundled twin WR kit deal is just to help pushing the sale of K7.

Hi to all, I have been reading about the k-7 recent promotions is a good deal. However, as I am buying my 1st DSLR, and I am aiming to get the K-x. Is the k-7 really more worthwhile? For a 1st time user, is k-7 has a higher learning curve? I like the k-x, for it's iso performance n the colours ( asking my friend to help me get it in japan, hopefully able to get the international warranty.)
I was looking on getting the pentax 50mm/f1.4 or the tamron 17-50mm f2.8, so if I am sway with the k-7 promotion, then this will have to be bought in future.

Thanks man! They don't have one custom made for the KX but they have a 3 inch one which they said will fit the KX well. Will go down later.:)

With the current promotion, the K7 is definitely a better buy. Where else can you get a pro body at this kind of price? I don't think the K7 has a higher learning curve, the Pentax interface is pretty user-friendly in my opinion.

Getting a k7 is a no-brainer gievn the current promotion. Some are actually banging their heads for getting the k-x just before the promotion. (Sorry, I am not trying to rub it in, just making a point).

New Pentaxians and Pentaxians-to-be, its really fortunate for you all to see this thread. Enjoy your well-deserved reward for not succumbing to mass-market propaganda, stereo-typed mentalities and your hard work in researching the market well. Kudos to all of you!
