MHO, no kit lens is even better. Good time to start clean and get a good Tamron 17-50/2.8

Oh, no, it's definitely not an entry-level DSLR. Entry-level DSLRs don't have secondary LCD, 100% OVF, pentaprism, dual command dials, weather resistance, electronic level... You can still use it full-auto if you want and then work your knowledge up from there. Just set to P or green mode, auto AF point selection, center weighted metering... basically if there are options to choose from choose the green coloured one
it's a pity to leave it on auto mode, do learn the other modes, the k7 is my first dslr too, i've no film history whatsoever.
to get the basics right and start shooting comfortably doesn't take a long time, but to master the system is another level altogether.

my bargaining power is only Lvl2:cry: trade in price was said @ $1380..
got it at $1390...only $10 difference..figured I could sell off my K10D for much more anyway if not keep as a backup..

oh yeah...forgot to mention...the salesguy did say "cash" after quoting the price...was gonna pay in cash anyway so I didn't ask if NETS was the same..

D300s body = k-7 body (D300s equiv)+ k-x kit. (D5000 equiv.)

but i just got my whitey 2 months ago as my first dslr. since then i had so much fun with it and it has so much sentimental value that when i think of packing up my whitey to sell to other people..:bheart:.. i cannot bear to do it. lol!
so i will just use the k-x to my fullest potential first. maybe next next time got better models, and lower lower prices
the money i save can go towards getting my next lens. :bsmilie:
