The prime series of lenses are very popular in Singapore...

thats good news but when I was searching for pancake lens recently, none in SG had it. Anyway got the pancake "trinity" already. My LBA is cured for now! :bsmilie:

Nice... I only have the pancake "duet" (missing the DA21).
But I'm tempted to get the Sigma 10-20 for wide though...
Anyway, I must not buy any more until I clear some space in my cabi...

Probably letting go of some manual primes and film bodies soon.... ;p

you mean there's another one??????????????

35mm is too close to 40mm. probably sell the 40 for the 35? I should get out of the house more often and shoot. :bsmilie:

is there going to be 35mm replacement for the 40? the 35 f/2 is still around right?

Nope, it'd be a DA 35/2.8 Limited macro :) It's another DA Limited lens, probably can't be called a pancake though ;)

ahhh .... ok. they seem to come out with more primes than zoom and teles.

Looks like it's not going to be much bigger than the pancake lenses.
Looks just a little longer than the DA70 with the hood on.

The DA 35/2.8 Limited macro is definitely on my TO BUY list.

I already preordered it at my favourite store the minute I saw this on the roadmap... JUst waiting now...

Can call it a DA Limited but its just too long to call it a 'pancake'! This gem is about as long as an FA35/2.

I'm about the buy a k10D. Guess i better wait for the new K20D.

BTW, can those old M42 mount Pentax lens work on the new Pentax digital bodies? I tried the screwmount Takumar 135mm and was amazed that it is such a SHARP lens!

Yes. You need to get an adapter for it. Pentax makes such an adapter.

Actually I don't care whether it is classified as a "pancake" or not because these prime lenses are pretty compact already. Due to the crop factor, this lens restores the angle of view of the traditional 50mm macro for 35mm film format which make it ideal for product, stills, food photography and copying.

Quite a useful focal length IMO, but if they could have made it 1/2 to 1 stop faster max aperture wise; and had they retained the aperture ring (like the current DFA macros) to allow use with bellows/extension tubes or reversed to allow stop down metering, this lens would be perfect.

I just realised. What's blowing you here from the Canon camp?:bsmilie: I remember buying from you a Canon lens!

Features not found in other brands.
But Canon will still remain as my main system.
