Creative control mode
When half click the shutter to snap a pix using one of the creative control option;it displayed as an overexposed photo but it turned out fine instead.

Screw-thread adapter/tube cannot be used for LX7 due to the different design as shown below.

I believe the Adapter/tube manufacturer would need to produce something adaptable.

Thanks.

It amazes me sometimes how some people on the internet would join a forum just to post an opinion only to disappear shortly.

Don't play play.
I think he's a genie from ' asdsafsddfasfsdf' :D

Can the mods do something about this? (Ie. Trace his IP to find out who he is on CS)
Apologies if this is asking too much. :)

Ppl here put in a lot of effort to do a review at their own precious time, and should be protected from trolling

He's probably American. Believing their opinions are worth a damn is a trademark defect of the people there.

Agreed.

No need ....... the troll is deregistered

Reviewers are always asked to put on as neutral a review as possible to give readers a fair read of the reviewer's opinions on equipment.... and Hosea (imho) has been very fair thus far in this thread, highlighting both good/great points and need-to-improve (can-be-done-better) points

No 'kelong' is tolerated here in Review Section

Testing fireworks shot with LX7

LX7 NR for long exposure is Auto with no option to "OFF" it. Quite a disadvantage if you wish to continuously snap the Fireworks.
Application of the same DSLR photography skill set is essential if you wish to manually control this camera to your advantage within
its limitations.

Perhaps, the LX7 sensor size & performance under low light is its set-back amongst its many great features improvement.
Nevertheless, individual tolerance on the noise level is subjective. Here are some photos with 100% Crop & Original to share.

Sharing my opinions about LX7.
In short, I like it.

My Top likes for LX7
1) Comfortable camera size. Neither too big or small.
2) Easy handling of Aperture with the new Aperture Ring (Unique)
3) Aspect ratio : My favorite are 1:1 SQ and 16:9 PANORAMA
4) Fast lens F1.4. F2.3 at its zoom end.
5) ND filter
6) Progressive Color Temperature adjustment from 2500K to 10000K
7) Clear HD Video with great sound quality
8) 250sec Max for long exposure
9) Creative Control feature -Superior Dynamic Monochrome. Excellent for Black & White photo
10) Scene Mode Selection (SCN)> Panorama shot with auto stitching (no available in LX5) – very useful feature that I yearn for when using LX5.
11) In-built creative Retouch function that allow quick editing by the camera.
12) Reasonable good for Macro photography

My Top Wish Lists for LX7
1) Accessories - A good strong nylon wrist strap to replace current neck strap which looks good but not practical.
2) Accessories – Longer battery life; I need at least 2 batteries for a full day shooting outing.
3) Accessories - Leather case ( Could be included this time? not sure )
4) Design - A Good camera hand grip design ( preferably same as LX5)
5) Design – Lens Ring design that allows the use of Auto lens cap and adaptor/tubes with screw thread. (Manufacturer of these accessories could redesign to adapt to LX7 lens design too).
6) Design - A Quick “Help” button or on screen menu to facilitate quick references of the many features function. A very important ‘must”
7) Design - Sensor size and performance under low lighting with high ISO could be further improved to match its competitor
8) Design- NR ON/OFF selection to be included (available in LX5)
9) Improving the firmware to resolve the metering of the “Creative control” function.

Thank you for the excellent summary. Will have to consider hard whether to upgrade to the LX7.
