Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LX100 & LEICA D-Lux Type 109

My experience with the LX100 has mainly involved raw files which are surprisingly flexible in post. Most notably the shadow recovery is pretty amazing. The only times I take jpgs are when I use the 4K photo mode where capturing the right moment you just cannot miss is more important than getting a raw file.

Here is a landscape attempt. Handheld, bracketed 3 raw files and merged in Photoshop to make a 32 bit super raw.

It's pretty sharp at f/2.8 and the bokeh is quite pleasing for a "compact" camera.

JPG from 4K photo mode tweaked in post.

Anoter JPG from 4K photo mode also tweaked in post.

My first attempt at strobing with one off camera flash. The leaf shutter allowed me to use high shutter speeds to freeze motion. 1/500s in this case.

ha tks! i think the red is still a little bright, will look better after it is seasoned a little, need to find a way to "age" the leather hehe....

I think the Richard Franiec grip should be quite similar to the ones he has already made for the canon s90 series and the previous D-lux 4/5/6.

What i am hoping for is more like a RRS style grip that has a arca swiss quick release built into the grip below (hopefully with battery door access), or perhaps a gariz case which offers more protection.

Read that Richard Franiec intends to make a grip for the Typ 109...
