Is the barrel of 12-35 f2.8 lens bundled still purplish in color?
Read some time back on 43rumors that some french website reported that it comes in matte black now.

Actually I'd say that it's still the Purple/black colour...go to 3.56...that sheens definitely not matte
True that! I guess its the angle of lighting then.
I'm considering getting a GX8. Just not sure if I should get this bundle with the 12-35mm or the cheaper bundle with kit lens and get an Oly 12-40 separately. Not sure if I can see the difference in image quality between these 2 fixed aperture zooms.. The dual IS that 12-35mm provides is something for me to consider too.
No lah, Panasonic cameras don't drop so fast until a newer replacement model comes in ... :dunno: :bsmilie:
I have both the 12-35 and 12-40 and I prefer the 12-40 ... also 12-40 is a newer lens ...
Is 12-35 much lighter and smaller?
I have 12-40 which i felt is so heavy amongst the m43 lenses, even on my em1.
The 12-35 is lighter and smaller (305g vs 382g) (φ67.6mm x 73.8mm vs Ø69.9 x 84mm)

I've tried the 12-40 on my gx7 and didn't like the weighting vs balance.
The 12-35 on both gx7 and gx8 sits really nicely. I've had my gx8 with 12-35mm and Nocticron 42.5mm the last 2 days travelling, and the weights comfortable.
I origianlly was gonna sell the zoom 12-35, but I think I'll hold onto it now...
One thing I forgot to add was the camera feels way more robust than the GX7. I could travel for work and knock it around a bit without worrying so much i think...the design is very functional

I went to check-out the Fuji XT-1. There is a lot of people selling the XT-1 (Black) Body Only but advertised it at $2,500 which is so much higher than the brand new price ... but then to make it look good, also got adv wanna buy a used XT-1 (Black) at $2,000. Just bought my set with the 12-35 f2.8 zoom today! I gotta say the Dual Image Stabiliser met my expectations! Managed to get a sharp shot at 1/4 sec. at the 35mm end of the zoom. The lens was updated to the latest version supporting the Dual IS straight out of the box 
I had to adjust the color of the viewfinder though. It was much more warm compared to the screen. Could be the other way round, need to load the images to my PC to see.
The overall speed (focusing, menu & image browsing) of the camera is a step-up from my GM1 I gotta say. Very smooth! Likely due to the the processor and the DFD?
But now I'm a happy man with the most portable GM1 and the beast of the GX8!
Happy to answer any questions you all might have! Might take some time since it is still day zero of me owning the camera! Still playing around with the settings

The size of GX8 is a good fit for me. Since I have large palms (approx. 19.5cm from fingertip to end of palm).
I would say it is around the same size as a Fujifilm X100 and a half case with a protruding grip which improves the handling.
The 12-35mm f2.8 balances well with the camera. I tried fitting this lens with my GM1 and it was a joke! Lol
The PL 15mm looks tiny on the GX8 but its a non- issue for me!
