Panasonic GH4K

I got one set from Artworkfoto today already. It really is the real deal. Have to collect the warranty card from them again next week friday. Apparently the stocks are in but the warranty cards probably not ready or still printing, therefore not officially launched yet.

Ooh, congrats.

First time hearing of someone collecting warranty card after purchase. Haha... interesting :bsmilie:

Hope the camera come with the sensor and you don't need to collect it next week too haha... just kidding. Congrats and enjoy the cam.

Hahaha ... me too ... could it be that's probably because as Editor has said that Panasonic Singapore has confirmed that these are not their set ?

Congrats, enjoy and post your review! Haha

Got the warranty already. So the Panasonic rep updating on Facebook is either very junior or blur sotong. Here's my warranty. Dealer's stamp is a well known big broadcast equipment company also in exhibiting in Broadcast Asia today. Artworkfoto probably got their sets through them.

No need to review. Every single review on the net is correct. Except I discovered what is Ex-Tele. This cool feature use a 1080p portion of the sensor to achieve a 2x zoom when shooting video at 1080p video. that means any lens becomes x2 tele and the quality is superb still, even sharper than 4k resize to 2k and without light loss. So a 14-42mm lens, becomes a 28-84mm lens which translates to 56-168mm on the m4/3. can you imagine using a 14-140mm lens? 1 lens is all you need for video shooting!

Not completely true. You get more grainy images and its not good in low light. Anything above 1600iso is not really usable IMO. I can't use ex-tele on 50fps for gh3. Does it apply for gh4 too?

Each user review is different lah. Maybe some details left out?

Anyway these developments are exciting times for video. Haha

I have a Panasonic 100-300 lens on the m4/3. So this means can go up to 600 ?

In case you weren't aware, your GH3 has the ETC mode too. Since the 100-300 gives you the equivalent 35mm FOV of 200-600mm (@2x), with the ETC mode, it should be 480-1440mm (@ 2.4x), subject to certain settings...

What I was really trying to point out is the Ex-Tele mode. If you want to shoot in low light light conditions, then get yourself a faster lens. The 12-35mm f2.8 should be good for this. Footage on youtube shows completely usable iso 1600 and 3200 footage. Check this beautiful footage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_ODLSIdxZg

I also want to mention that for guys who also shoot on ENG cameras, the iso mode is switchable to DB mode. 0db gain = iso400 and +18 db gain = iso3200.
Any cameraman using ENG cameras will try not to go above 9db which is somewhere around iso1600 because any gain up over 0db will introduce noise.
But again these ENG cameras all have good lenses starting with f1.8 widest. Some even have f1.6 lens at wide setting.

There is also the shutter Angle mode for guys that is familiar with film cameras and the Panasonic Varicam and the HVX/HPX series P2 Camcorder series.

Does focus tracking work well during video?

is it worth to buy this metabones Speedbooster ?

How much are one of this ?

Thnaks
If you own a set of EF/FD lenses or Nikon F/G mount lenses, then the speedbooster is the best investment you can ever make because it makes all your lenses a stop faster and in fact sharper! That's like upgrading your entire lens kit of for the price of one lens. The more lenses you have with the same mount - the more worthwhile your investment.
The engineering of the speedbooster is so good that it is actually slimmer than a "kosong" adapter- shaving off a few mm from the length of the adapter/lens combo.

On top of that, the crop factor is now 1.4X instead 2X, giving M43 the same DOF and FOV as APS-C cameras.

But note speedboosters are for select range of full-frame/APS-C lenses only and will not work for your Lumix/Olympus M43 lenses.

Yes Bamboo, looks like this is great to have but how much are these metabones Speedbooster ?
