Panasonic GH4K

wah really arrived Spore liao !! But are these parralell import sets or from Panasonic Spore ? Any idea what is the RRP with the 14-140 bundle ? Thanks
Why should they be parallel imports if most of those shops don't even sell grey imports anyway?

Not sure, just wondering only why AWF can get so fast when Panasonic Spore doesn't even sell it yet ?

¥217,800 with 14-140mm and ¥187,790 body only at Amazon. Prices will go down once they're widely available.

How likely is it that Panasonic Spore gonna bundle the GH4 with 14-140 as kit lens ?

Bcos I check bhpphoto and Amazon, they only have body only option.

The most is they bundle with the handgrip that have XLR connector (dunno what you called)

Where did you get the price in Yen ? Is it a problem to buy online from Japan, if got warranty and can change language to English then maybe can consider leh ...

Thanks

Panasonic Singapore has yet to market GH4 in Singapore.

All current avaliable GH4 stocks in Singapore is most likely to be Non Local Warranty Sets.

Thanks Editor,

I am a bit confused and hope you can enlightened me.

If what you said is true, then how come Artworkfoto claimed that their sets are
"Local Singapore Panasonic Warranty Sets" ?

But don't know why the link to their advertisement as provided by some kind members earlier

http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1411839

in clubsnap saying so has become an invalid link.

Anyway, their same advertisement claiming so can still be found in their Facebook page:

So before I purchase, can shed some light into this ?

As Panasonic Singapore hasn't announce the launch of GH4 yet, I just wanna make sure that it is a local set as claimed.

Thanks and cheers

The letter behind is Panasonic's designation for their kit variants that include a lens.

DMC-GH4A (Body + 12-35 lens kit)
DMC-GH4H (Body + 14-140 lens kit)

DMC-GH4-YAGH (Body + Interface unit)

I just saw in Panasonic Singapore website:
http://www.panasonic.com/sg/consumer/cameras-camcorder.html?browsing=params&sort=Featured&page=2

that they only listed

DMC-GH4 and DMC-GH4A leh ...

DMC-GH4H was not listed in Panasonic Singapore website so does that mean in Spore we are not gonna see a GH4 bundled with the 14-140 lens ?

Thanks

I don't know what the website can be used to gauge though, given that it isn't a retail website. E.g., GH3 12-35 kit isn't listed, but a good number of us have bought that locally. Of course, they've never promised anyone that they'll bring all available kits to all markets. Either wait and see, or direct your questions to Panasonic SG. :)

Thanks kandinsky.

Call Panasonic useless one lah. I called them today and all they have is a standard answer "Don't know. We don't have that information yet" to any questions you asked about GH4.

At least when I called Cathay Photo, they revealed that the pricing from Panasonic is out which is:

$2,199 body only
$3,339 with 12-35 mm lens

I asked for the price for bundles with 14-140, they say don't have such pricing from Panasonic.

So, looks like 14-140 is not in the bundle !

What good is it to call Panasonic when they will only say something worth hearing only on or after their launch day ?

Cheers

Haha. My thought was that none of us would have answers to the questions you were asking, no point asking us. And if there was anyone who'd know things like which kits will be brought in for SG market, it would only be Panny SG right? But I guess from your experience, they're just as clueless as we are :bsmilie:

I guess it's not surprising that they aren't willing to share the information with consumers before their determined launch/release. Understand the need to make sure everything is in place before releasing info to the public, but the really sad part is they can't even give a definite date for the launch. You're right, they do seem to be truly useless when it comes to capitalising on the excitement that comes with new products. A real letdown.

I do not think they are clueless, I think they just do not want to say. So much for their marketing strategy ... :)

Yes kandinsky, you are absolutely right, Panasonic is pretty useless when it comes to marketing to create a hype and excitment of their new product ! They should learn from Apple ...

I understand about the need to make sure everything is in place before the launch ... but isn't Apple also have to do that too ?

The thing is Cathay has already got the price list from Panasonic and yet Panasonic cannot even get the launch date right, not even an estimate !

No disrespect to engineers but I think the Panasonic must have employed a square engineer to head their Marketing division instead of a marketing man ... Hahaha ...

Probably our market is too small for Panny. No point sweating just to get a handful of us excited haha. I do wonder how many GH4 can they sell here.

Yeah, it's times like this that sometimes makes me feel a bit silly for buying a camera from a company that also makes household appliances. :bsmilie: Maybe for every GH4, they sell at least one thousand rice cookers. Haha.

True also lah ... Panny wont be selling more than 100 sets of GH4 i suppose ?

But then, they have never market anything in such a big scale like Apple ... so their inexperience shows ... or maybe not their marketing style ... or maybe they dunno how ... oh well ...

Panasonic's GH series cameras are well-renowned by filmmakers and cinematographers worldwide, especially in the Western world. it's that appreciation for a camera that produces very cinematic images at a very affordable price point, and wtih very, very high detail and resolution.

Then again, the local market is oversaturated with Canon users.. and people with the "if it's not a Canon, it must not be good" mindset are one too many.

Yeah, like your point about "very affordable price point".
We're also happy with not having to pay prices inflated by extravagant marketing (e.g., celebrity endorsements, etc).

Maybe we will get to see and buy the new Sony A7s before the GH4 haha.

I suppose Canon has build their name over the years ...

I just wish there are classes on how to use GH4 ....

You are right, man ....

Come to think of it, since Panosonic didn't know (or don't want to)carry out a marketing campaign to create a hype, I suppose maybe no advertisement cost is passed to consumer ? Yes ? No ?

Hahhaha ... yeah man !

Now very sianz to note that GH4 wont be bundled with the 14-140 lens ... sigh ...
