Opinions please.

I noticed that G1 LCD preview of the photo taken looks acceptable exposure... Histogram not too off but when I look at the same photo on my pcs, it is too under-exposed. This is confirmed when I print at Harvey Norman's. As a consequence, I tend to shoot with +EV compensation

Greetings sticsg,

Yes I've faced the same problem before. This is because the default brightness setting of the LCD is much too high, thus misleading you into taking dimmer photographs. I would suggest dimming the LCD display by 2 or 3 bars to correct this.

Rainy Day series taken by my lovely G1 ...
A perfect tool for street photography.
Relatively Fast focusing , articulated LCD enable me to take picture at different angle. Love it! love it! love it !!! hee hee...

Good shots DaXiong. Esp Photo 2 for the Nostalgic feel.

Some macro shots with kit lens after severe cropping. Very pleased with how sharp the pics are despite the cropping.

1. Fireworks of a different sort.

2. Perfect Petals.

Got. Lucky Plaza 2 shops carry the stock, provided if you're willing to pay the price. The one shop (forgot the name) besides a McD down the staircases got one selling at a cut throat price sgd550, and another one (also forgot the name ;-) beside the parking booth (also few steps below Lucky) got one selling at sgd540.

If you can haggle the prices it'd great, but so far the more reasonable one is Alan Photo.

BTW, how much is the 45-200? Thinking of getting 50mm Macro lens. On budget;p

Thanks for the tip:)

No worries, btw I have this problem that I can't seem to solve? When I transfer new photos from my camera to my laptop using Panasonic Photofunstudio, I select "Sort by date of recording" and the photos will be created to a new folder with the the date as the name. The folder name is in the format MMDDYYYY and I want to change it to YYYYMMDD. How can I do this?

Dudes,

Got my lumix vario 7-14mm fisheye lens directly from Japan & here's the summary:

- Produces very sharp images at F/4 as well as F/5.6.
- Adapts very quickly on a G1 body, in terms of focusing with virtually no noise.
- Lens v small & light, easy to carry, solid built materials, & even built-in lens hood.
- Ability to do close focusing with mere 1ft or less, but not suitable for macro.
- Ultra-wide view with minimal or no distortions at the sides.

:thumbsd:
- For some reason F-stop will auto-adjust to F/5.6 in landscape mode, but image still fairly sharp.
- Relatively expensive. Paid mine around sgd1300, but in SG selling at sgd1699.

Conclusion
Panny has shown great efforts in producing quality m4/3 lenses, albeit limited m4/3 lens choices. I love it & this lens is a must have for those m4/3 & landscape photography lovers!

Amazon Japan, during promo period + good exchange rate  Managed to save other charges as got fren stopover Japan to bring back.
If you decide to use vpost to mail it over, prob need to add around sgd170 inclusive shipping, insurance, & GST, which adds to sgd1470, still cheap compare to the retail price in SG.

u can try ALAN PHOTO at SIM LIM.... i bought mine ard SGD140 ;)

Finally got my G1 after comtemplating for over a year. I can see why there quite a few enthusiastic fans for the G1, its a very nice camera and easy to use. Very new to DSLR, so still reading everyone's post and admiring other people's work. Any have any idea where to get a compatible 14-140mm lens like the one for GH1?

Uh, why didn't you get the GH1 then?

The price is more than double for what i paid for my G1 and I do not need the HD recording as i already have a dedicated camera for that.

Yea, but you'll find the cost of the 14-140 + G1 not too far from the GH1... The GH1 also gives much better high ISO capability.
