Alan Photo at Sim Lim. Ground floor. U may want to search in e bay. I bought one at S$45 from a seller from HK. The only weakness of this 3rd batt is that it can't hold the charge for longer period. (Eg; Fully charged, keep in dry cab for 1 week, the power will be gone.) I solve it by fully charge it the night before my shooting everytime.... :sweatsm: Original one doesn't have this problem. :thumbsup:

...I was at Sim Lim Square last night. Also bought from Alan Photo. Original is at $135. Bought 3rd party at $45...the battery box says DiviPower Battery Specialist and has a 3500mAh rating. Original has a rating of 1250mAh and 9.0Wh (anybody know what 9.0Wh is?). Have bought several 3rd party batteries for my other Panasonic cameras and these 3rd party batteries carry a higher mAh rating...but they last the same as the original with the lower rating
Interesting note: there has been some static about Alan Photo service in this forum....and I noticed that they have salesmen and salesmen who have been there longer. I was served by one who had to ask a senior for info such as pricing. But they seemed upfront about their conversation. Unlike one other shop I visited where the salesmen spoke in code. Same thing with another shop in Funan...gives an impression they are gauging the customer whether can charge more or not;p

Got my G1 few months back. Invested in 45-200mm telephoto lens, and just placed an order for the Lumix G vario 7-14mm wide angle lens to complete my "arsenals."
However, picture taking skills still need alot of improvement though.:embrass:

Dont have opinion on battery yet...am using it in my camera now. Based on 3rd party batteries used in my TZ3 and FZ18, no different from originals ... let see about this one.

I think so too...about Alan Photo.

What I dislike most is being cheated. If service is sincere, even if the item is a bit more expensive...I dont feel like kena con. Some of these salesmen think customers are stupid or something...body language speaks louder than words... so it is good to read the feedback from this forum about con-job shops. I have been a point and shoot person (because photograhic equipment too expensive for me lah) but always interested in photography. G1 is my most expensive item ...so I can move forward in photography (hopefully) now that I have a little more money to spend;p

Opinions please.

I noticed that G1 LCD preview of the photo taken looks acceptable exposure... Histogram not too off but when I look at the same photo on my pcs, it is too under-exposed. This is confirmed when I print at Harvey Norman's. As a consequence, I tend to shoot with +EV compensation

dear all, i think i will get myself a g1 today plus the 45-200mm. tried it yesterday and it is pretty impressive. the cam seem to suit my needs... my 30d is too heavy and lx3 is a tad slow. g1 means i can carry a"dslr" to shoot my kids wherever is go!

Why not buy a made in china 3rd party lens cap? cheap and good. U can try Orient Photo at SimLim. They have a lots of different sizes lens cap.

To me, G1 is the best in between DSLR & P&S. Light & relatively small. I love my G1 very much. Always with me wherever i go. Image Quality is good. :thumbsup:

can someone explain why the interest in 17mm f2.8? Is the reason because it is a fast lens? Focal length is equiv. to 34mm which is already in the 14to45 lens kit?:embrass:

Been using my camera with the Divipower battery over the last two days...very good...still at 3 bars. I am thinking of buying another
