Had a friend brought over from Japan Yodobashi when he went over for business trip.
Total damage was Yen190,000 (around S$2,850)

I got it from Yodobashi in Japan last week too and after 5% rebate, is 99810yen. When is just below $1500

Ya. 190,000 yen is for both lenses. 12-35 and 35-100. Yet to have an opportunity to go shoot some pictures.

Yodobashi, Bic Camera and other big chains are reliable and convenient to purchase, but need a higher profit margin to maintain storefront and staff. My fav shop is Fujiya in Nakano, not visiting this Dec though. Noticed some from a hongkong lumix fan forum that is tracking the price and ordering from here LUMIX G X VARIO 35-100mm/F2.8/POWER O.I.S. H-HS35100. Drop to 83821 but currently out of stock.

The cheapest so far for both 12-35 & 35-100 is from www.Amazon.co.jp. Cut the middlemen, If anyone going there can consider, free deliver to any Lawson convenient store in Japan. No warranty of course...

Woah, Panasonic SG still not getting it 1.5 months after USA got theirs, more than a month HK got theirs.

I cannot afford to wait since my sister cannot buy it from HK. Buying an Olympus 40-150 R for my late Dec trip instead. Flying over to HK for this lens in late Jan instead.

Map camera in Shinjuku Tokyo selling the lens brand new at 95800yen... After tax refund is about 91k yen. Saw a used 12-35F2.8 lens which is in good condition selling there as well... At 61k yen.

edit: Just calculated more. If I buy from Amazon JP, I ship to tenso forwarding shipping, and add GST and an estimate of total 10% extra, it will only cost me 1520 GST worst case scenario.

No.. i am comparing USA set at USD1499 which after exchange rate + GST...

by the way the cost of shipping in this item is around SGD70 according to amazon jp's packing.. I used vpost..
