OMG! Look at the EM-1 aka the now official E-M1 Thread

is it ugly?

there's actually a "Lens I.S. Priority" setting, did u turn it on when you on the OIS switch?

Both body and lens is turned off. Why don't u try it yourself? Speed at 1/200s to 1/80 with a steady hand.

Error.
I mean the body ois is turned off.

Thanks for the sharing of e results.

Actually your point being ? A comparison of in body IS vs lens IS ? Just the 35-100/2.8 vs ____ or in general ? I'm a little lost here.

If in general, I'd think the results prob gonna be very varied with the multitude of bodies & lenses we have.

Just to check if any of u ever encountered fuzzy / blur / smudged area on some part of an image while other areas seems ok in the same photo looks ok? I've came across some images like this and wonder if the lens / body stablisation is the culprit.

This one sounds exciting. I thought an E-M5 replacement is expect...but another OM-D....hmm....I like.:)

2 more OMD, doesnt 1 replace the EM5? Wonder the other is between EM1 and EM5 or lower than EM5.

Maybe the ultimate OMD ? The EM-O code named emo ;)

Hi. Noticing you had been unhappy with your current camera and lens. Not sure about your knowledge of using camera thingy despite of your numerous posts.
Like you, I was unhappy with my omd em5 when I first bought it after selling my Pentax gears and Canon 7D. But I continued enduring on using my omd and many different lens by reading manual guide book and studying videos from YouTube till I completely understood everything inside and outside of OMD EM5. I have no problems using 12-35mm and 35-100mm which are my constant lens wherever I go.
Suggest you hang on by reading many useful tutorials and forums online about Micro Four Thirds(MFT) thingy and practice, practice, practice until you really understand what your camera system and lens are.
If you are not happy with your camera/lens, maybe MFT is not for you. You can always sell off your MFT thingy.
Pardon my frankness if you are offended by my post here.
Actually from what I can see here, many of us friendly fellows here are trying to help you as much as we can.

have u check the link i posted earlier? might be the same issue (shutter shock) ?

Just found out this term "shutter shock" today.
This em1 / m43 system is really unreliable! Sucks big time!

If I say more, someone in the factory will have a sore behind. From what I know, someone from the factory actually read our forums...

EM-0 is any OM-D series (the lemon edition). The user will never know when the camera works, too emo... LOL!

Shutter shock

With all of the reports on the internet, I hardly see attached images that convincingly shows the problem with a close up A-B comparison.

While I will not deny that it exists, but so far my own personal experience with the E-M1 with the Panasonic Quad lenses as well as the 12-40Pro have yet to reveal any problems.

So as a community, let's take notice of our shots and if indeed the syndrome shows in your photos, please shoot another that shows a perfect exposure and share it here.

For those who are really complaining about the problem, there is an option to switch to lens IS, or turn off all IS and shoot without.

Do share shots of yours with the problem of shutter shock, so that when the factory guys check out the forums, they can see hard evidence of this happening.

This is another way of doing the community a service too. And I believe if this is real problem, Olympus will address it.

weekh, thanks for bringing this issue up.

I think we should officially coin the E-M1 as "EMO", aka The Big Lemon, if the shutter shock is happening to all E-M1s. I don't see it, and thus I am wondering if it is happening to a batch, or just some of the earlier batches, whatsoever.

Olympus will usually take responsibility for bad batches, like what they did with the cracking LCD monitors on the E-M5.

I won't lose sleep over this.

Haha, why not ? :) personally I like the name EMO haha

We had a long discussion and there r tonnes of readings of this suspected shutter shock phenomenon in the EP5 and I've been to Oly SG and talked to them about it.

At the least is so far among those EP5 users I know , no one has mentioned having problems including me.

if it's an issue, I'm assured Oly will fix it and definitely I'm still happily shooting on the EP5 doing the volunteer event for the special Olympic athletes at the ACM now

Do u think I can ask for refund from Olympus / panasonic under the lemon law?

Totally LEMON products!!!! $%^$$

Erm relax bro , so fast it's just still discussions with no one any wiser about this issue without any definite proof.

My advice , focus on the more important things like having fun with the camera. Glad that u have pointed out the issue with the IS. It's sharing like this that makes having a community worthwhile

are u going to have fun bringing the EM1 for a trip only to realise that u have got all blurry pictures upon your return???

I want to have fun shooting with results guaranted. Not to tigum tigum to see if the camera / lens decided to give me a sharp photo.

I buy a product and it should work. Not to pay Olympus / Panasonic and become a beta tester for them!
