theITguy said:Thanks for this thread. The 100-300 seems to be smaller than reality on the OMD. The 100-400 is totally out of the league in terms of size.
M43 got it right with the lens size while Sony got it right with the body.

Wah Liew... This is so.... Nice!!!The 100-300 definitely works well with the OMD. Here is a handheld shot of a dove I took this afternoon off someone's rooftop, lightly cropped of a JPEG. IBIS was on and OIS was off

The EVF is unstable when both IBIS n OIS are on. The image becomes jerky, making it hard to lock focus on the precise focus spot. For that reason alone I wld turn off either one.
But yes, OIS clearly works on oly bodies like omd. This was my experience too.

Oly is wider, sharper and lighter.
Panny is brighter (and not as wide).
Bros with experience - is the half stop brighter really makes a lot of difference in reality? If not, I am thinking of getting the Oly.
Appreciate any opinion. Thanks.

tsammyc said:I'm a Panny user so you can take this with a grain of salt. Oly is wider and lighter. I don't think it is sharper at 300mm, which is where I use this type of lens mianly. Both lenses are dim 600mm EFL lenses so any bit of extra light you can get helps. The main thing which will help either lens is to get an OMD, which can shoot at high ISO without much noise.
