i finalli got an adapter to use the lens on my canon and seriously..amg all of the lens...im amazed with de results of all!!!

comparing my 50mm f1.8 japan version vs my own canon 50mm f1.8..the results is so

i bringing it w my 100mm f2.8 to bintan...hopefully can get some nice pics back!

Both lenses are excellent, enjoy. My OM 100f2.8 is so good on my 5D that sometimes, I leave my Zeiss 85f1.4 at home.

Thanks Anthony. These are all taken in Bahrain. I am trying to show that the 21/3.5 can be a versatile lens despite its wide angle of view. It has good resistance to flare. However, if the light source is too strong, there is a large red ring of light. But this only occurs in extreme conditions. Being a f3.5, it is also easy to use as you don't really have to worry about DoF. I used it at f5.6 which I think is the optimum performance and f8 almost all the time. So just set it up at HFD and ready to fire away anytime.

There are a few issues that one may have to get used to. The first is I find the off camera image to be less contrasty. The contrast in every image needs to be increased in post processing. I suspect it has to do with the small optical surface which does not favour the light gathering requirements of digital sensors. The second is I need to under expose by half a stop so as not to have blown out highlights. Since these can be post processed, these are non issues in my case.

Overall, it is a very portable travel lens. I do not feel the weight of it at all. I do not get strange stares from strangers since it is not obtrusive. For the same reason, I don't attract attention and do not have to worry about it being stolen. It is a small fellow that is reliable and delivers, with a bit of post processing.

Interesting observation and a good read, thanks for sharing! I too find that the Zuiko lenses overexposes a little bit on my 5D. I have to dial it down a notch, usually -0.5ev. Looking forward to more nuggets of information from your trip. Thanks!

Apart from my 50f1.4 and 24f2.8, all my other lenses are not as contrasty and I agree, they need some 'push' in PP but very slightly. Like to see more colorful landscapes from the 21f3.5cause that's its main strength. Are you on holiday or are you stationed in the middle east?

No CPL used. These are properly exposed with the sun directly behind me. Contrast pushed up slightly in post processing, and slight curves adjustments. It is winter and the front-lighted sky can give a beautiful blue. Of course pp may have resulted in a deeper hue.

You can see from the direction of the shadow in the 2nd picture you quoted the position of the sun. I have replaced the 2nd picture with a front-lighted one of the same fort.

I like the rendering style of this lens, somewhat like my cheaper 35-70f3.6 for landscapes but much wider and nicer perspective. My late version of the 24f2.8 produces the same effect but the 21f3.5 is a definite keeper and one which I will like very much to have in future.

What about some pointed star shots at night of some iconic street scenes. This lens can be amazing for this also.

MWP... you made me feel like getting a 21mm but it'd be pricey...

I just had my first roll developed from my OM1n I got from John Titterington in eBay... Amazing... I will definitely support him again if given the chance! The straight scans are good enough, with satisfying contrast and sharpness! Going to share them here tonight if I remember.

Lucky film has no ASA100 though. The only Lucky 100 I know of, is b&w MF film, which I also have about 8 rolls left.

Anyone decided to start an outing request yet?
