If this is really it, it sounds more like E-P1.5.

I can't imagine they'll sell many. It just looks as though they fixed some weak areas of the E-P1.

Hopefully, there is a lot more to it.

Ya, just like the G1 to GH1....

No E-5? I'm leaving Olympus.... hahaha... :bsmilie:

OM-N1 is 2010 product lah, my friend...

Eagerly waiting! Loved the OM series. If the E-3 successor follows the footsteps of the OM series, I'm in. ;p

sob sobs... We all hope for it, I guess. I still enjoy looking at my uncle's well-kept OM camera. It's sweeeeeet! Oh great god Olympus!! Hear the cries and prayers of your faithful!!:bsmilie:

Totally agree. Minor improvement & max price bump. I guess if they want a hurried product, then this is it :sweat: Its like juz 5mths after gen 1 launched & now announcement for gen 2.

Wonder how the new V+ engine perform over the older. Maybe its juz a faster processor inside to cater for the continuous tracking & extra filters. Btw i think the Cross processing filter wud be really fun!! What does the Diorama thingy do? Any enhancement to the buffer? Size does matter... HAHAHAHA!!!

sorry to off track a bit...

Does Olympus or 3rd party produces adapter for 4/3 to m4/3 mount?
since there is MMF1 turns m4/3 to 4/3 mount. I wan my E3 body to use those m4/3 lenses

m4/3 lens wud produce smaller image circle. Its juz like using EF-s lens from canon on their full frame body, u get the idea?

edited: Btw, guess its time for the mods to work, many EP2 threads floating around... Sony has Mega Bass & CS has Mega Thread HAHAHAHA!!!

Yawn. What a lame upgrade.

hahaha... i just bought E-P1 on the day E-P2 launched. Guess, i didn't miss much. cos still no built-in flash :P

if the spec is really what the original post said, i don't find it a nice upgrade, unless there are significant improvement in picture quality (i doubt).

i am expecting something more exciting than that. :(

As much as I do, i like the ep1 very much. Olympus wacked me hard with this release of ep2 considering not long after their launch of ep1. On the other side, the ep2 probably to me is a "facelift". Imagine this happening to car market, ppl definitely _)(#*#@()! more than us ... i do not know what is the road map for Oly but with their product "update" so frequent, I will definitely think twice buying an olympus again.

I cannot imagine going black with the ep2..... This looks much better imo .... sigh ....

u mean vignetting? i see...

Cuz I'm waiting for E620 upgrade... if possible wif E520 built (cuz better grip + using BLM-1 battery), hopefully wif Full HD video capability (30fps) and uses on the rumour m4/3 lenses Olympus 14-150mm? I guess tis dream can't be fulfilled...

Unless there is a significant improvement in the AF speed or other performance, I think I'll jsut get the E-P1 and the Panny 7-14 for my wide angle fix.

So fast got new version. EP1 haven't warm up yet.

haha, very few here seems to like it, but once it's out, I'm sure those that like the RF shape who were just waiting for a serious viewfinder will consider it.

My only gripe is they could have released this as E-P1 ! But I guess Olympus thought they needed something with a price easier to swallow by the mass market for its introductory m4/3 model E-P1. At this new E-P2 price, different market already. It would have been more ideal for us consumers if they just introduced both at the same time where we could have had a choice.

I just hope they sell the E-P2 body +EVF alone, in Singapore.

E-P1 still looks better though. And what's with the EVF it makes the E-P2 look like a robot. So fast come out..feel a bit cheated tsk.

EVF should be detachable. Very useful for sunny days, for one, and checking manual focus on E-P1 should be easier.

Why do you feel cheated ? You think it looks like a robot, so you will not buy it, right ? You also think E-P1 looks better. You got it cheaper too.

I should be the one who should say I feel "cheated" :bsmilie:, because if E-P1 and E-P2 came out at the same time, I would have bought E-P2 in a heartbeat.

:bsmilie:

4/3s too big, so Olympus came up with m4/3s.

After EP-1 released, people complained no proper EVF. Now there's a nice EVF for the EP-2, people complain too big. :bsmilie:

We'll never be satisfied. ;p

I was expecting something bigger than the EP-1. e.g a bigger grip. Oh well, guess RF design is the way to go for m4/3.

In fact, I was readying to sell my GF1 if E-P2 comes with flash and faster AF (not known yet as not tested)....for the body IS...
