Thank you Oly5050, I'm glad you like both of the pictures. As to the new dobymark, I was just trying out the diff. style....... yes I think also it's more subtle and classy too.

The perspective distortion of the above photo might be due to my camera not leveled horizontally during shooting........sometime I do find it difficult to view thru' the 'smaller' VF to accurately/correctly composition and check my shot before firing.

Maybe the 'Techkies' might want to shed some light on the barrel distortion effect of the kit lenses as I'm not familiar on the technicalities aspects of the various lenses.......:dunno:

Cheers!:D

Taken with E-510 & 14-42mm kit lens handheld @ f3.5, 1/125s and ISO 800.

Andrewine, I notice that the buidling is not that brightly lit but yet you still manage to take it with details rather than underexposed picture, and the street lamp is not overexposed too. How did you do that?

Oooo! U are so wicked!!! I would never have thought to compose like this.

Thanks Oly5050, since I like the 2 subjects (Street lamp & Building) and after a long thought, I've decided that this could be one of the best ways to shoot it.

Thanks aryanto, You are right that the building is not that brightly lit. I had in fact taken exposure to ensure that the street lamp is correctly exposed and in doing so had to under exposed that building in knowing that I would have to use 'curves' to bring out the details during PP.

Here is another shot of the Treasury Casino taken under Available Lights handheld.........Hehe...... I'm getting quite lazy to use a tripod nowadays.......bad boy! :nono:

Taken with E-510 & 14-42mm kit lens @ f3.5, 1/10s and ISO 800 handheld.

Above 2 jpg are using the same camera and lens.
Camera Model : E510
Lens Used : SMC Takumar 50mm F1.4
Comments: I was trying out this very old Pentax lens on my E-510. The first shot was taken in a bus stop, the glass panel behind the bus stop reflects the petrol kiosk across the road.
The second shot was taken at the community centre.

ttingch, for the reflection picture are you using Manual Focus? I find AF struggles a lot to focus on reflection.

Yes, manual focus, the lens I used was an old manual lens for Pentax SLR.
I have a Sigma 30mmm F/1.4, I find it very difficult to do AF in low light too. That's why I invested in this old Takumar lens.

he was using a legacy pentax lens, i'm sure its a manual focus lens.

Well seen and nicely captured, ttiongch!
Love the rich colors and the cozy warm ambient lights.
Another Impressive f1.4 lens!
Cheers!

Thanks Adrewine, I was surprised by the sharpness and build of this 30 yr-old lens, it's definitely more value for money than my Sigma 30mm F1.4

Recently I'm crazy about all these manual wide aperture lenses and using them in low-light shots.:bsmilie:

Yes, the sharpness definitely beat the Sigma flat!
Maybe I should get my hand on one of these lenses.....I don't mind the MF so long I can shoot in low light conditions.

Btw how's the bokeh?

Here's another photo from one of my trip to Cairo, Egypt.
Taken with E-510 & 14-42mm kit lens.

The above pic shows the bokeh of the Takumar 50mm F/1.4 at wide open. I was focusing on the "Baby Pooh" wordings. I put a shiny chain behind the Pooh to show you the bokeh.
Hope I can poison you with this lens.
