Taken with E-510 & Zuiko ED 7-14mm Lens @ f8, 1/400s and ISO 200.

This shot was taken during my 2nd Oly E-xperience Workshop on Travel.
Instructor Kim Lau was kind enough to let me 'play' with this AWESOME piece of exotic glass on the conditions that I would have to shoot him conducting the workshop with the newbie photographers.

As luck would have it, on our stroll from the Singapore River to St. Andrew's Cathedral, while I was walking and fiddling with the lens and cam setting and at the same time trying to catch up with the rest, I saw a red scooter at the left corner of my eye throttling down the lane, intuitively I raised the camera to my eye to snap it, unfortunately the bottom framing was cropped off.

Well the rest is History! :(........where can I find another red scooter like this again?

nice subject u have...and u USM the pic?

Yes I did.
It went thru' the 'shadow/highlight', 'high pass' filter and USM........etc.
I must say that these work flow is just my personal 'style' of PP treatment to add depth and interestingness to the photo.
I tend to give each and everyone of my photos a special added dimensional perspective and/or an unique emotional feel depending largely on my mood of the day.......hehe.......(more like PMS!)

Another shot of the Zuiko ED 7-14mm lens @ Boat Quay - Singapore River.

Sorry guys........ one last shot of the Singapore River.......I know I know it's getting stale and boring........hehe......:embrass:

I'm just like a small boy getting all excited playing with the exquisite UWA Zuiko 7-14mm lens,;p courtesy of Oly instructor Kim Lau.

My personal interpretation of the juxtaposition of the 'Interpretive Gallery' poster showing the past and present on that morning along Singapore River with the Oly 'Travel' workshop group.

Wow! What a Beauty! Love it! Excellent Capture!
The water ripples in the foreground somehow adds a sense of Surrealism to the Dramatic Clouds.....it looks so near and yet so far away!

It would be interesting to know how it's done :dunno:......any special techniques.....care to share?

Hee hee... Actually this is a lucky shot, most of my shots using this 7-14mm look wierd, cannot show people. This is my 2nd time using it, I was thinking may be can use it to take sunrise in an open area with sky, sea and some buildings.

So I went to the place near Merlion in the morning, however, the sun was blocked by the clouds. So bo bian any how take some shots.

This 7-14mm seems like a jackpot machine to me, most of the time I get nothing from it. But once in a while I might hit Jackpot! :bsmilie:

Just to share, I like to shoot in jpg HQ 1/8 for the small file size. My mode settings for the E510 are Vivid, Contrast: -2, Sharpness: -1, and Saturation: +1.

Wonderful Capture, Marky!
Love the Colorful umbrellas against the blue sky, fluffy clouds and the details under the shadows. Great DR! I believe it's shot with the E-3 right?

I like this, especially the lens flare and the shadow of the pillars.
May I know why you choose to present this in black and white? I wonder what's the colour of the lens flare, and does it enhanced the picture if it's in colour?

Thanks ttiongch. I presented this in B&W 'maybe' to show its strong contrasty lines and angle......hehe......now that you asked me I don't really know :dunno:....it a 'feel' thing that's why I use the word 'maybe'.

Another reason why I took this shot is because of the many interesting elements in a single picture........Eg: shadows. lines, contrast, perspective, sunflare, texture.....etc,etc....

It's just me....I like this kind of challenges and radical perspective!......

The original is below:

Another interesting capture that I like very much is this shot taken in Zürich using my previous prosumer camera Canon S3. It has 2 opposite elements in it: Shadows and Silhouette in a single shot.

Cheers!

Wow! This is like a piece of art.

Thanks ttiongch! I'm glad you like this 'piece of art'.
This was a very lucky shot, a few seconds after this shot was taken the morning train came and the platform was once again deserted. And as the low rising sun also went up higher, the shadows cast onto the wall were not the same any more!

Well....... C'est la Vie!......... That's as 'Street Photography' as a 'walkabout shooter' can get!......Hehe.......;)

Cheers!

Adrewine --- u are just amazing. BTW, I prefer ur new dobymark. More subtle and classy. I also note that there was some perspective distortion in the original that u corrected in the black and white. I expected this with the kit lens. But both photos are indeed outstanding!! And BW for that pillar/corridor photo is indeed the right way to present it.
