BTW, Blitz.

When Leslie show you the TC and snap a picture, he mentioned something about vignetting. How does it look like? the 4 corners blackout? I look at the Galaa guy's 19x photo but can't find vignetting except the photo is a bit darker probably dut to the zoom??? :dunno:

Yep, you will get a bit of vignetting if you don't zoom up to 3x. It looks like a black circle with the image in the centre :)

After zooming out, I dun notice any vignetting problems, maybe LCD screen small so can't notice?

I C. How about C180? same 20mm hole also? :(

It is ok lah. No harm done.;) Wah CP offer such a low price to you. They quoted me more than $30. :dunno:

As to the 41-37mm adapter, how much did you buy it for?

Me still heart pain over my "lens" incident so I did not buy the lens from Mpenza. I have went back to the shop Ishida for an exchange but after much negotiation, they only agreed to change another lens with me. They were out of TC and their wide angle lens has vignette when zoomed out. I am supposed to go down again today or tomorrow when they are supposed to have stock. Wish me luck.

Poor Megadark, kena sabo. (hehe, just kidding to make Klause feel bad)

BTW, did you get the shakar TC from Mpenza? How is it?

Me not sure whether I want to get TC at 37mm or 52mm as in not sure 52mm C180 will give no vignetting or not. CP offer me CLA-1 at $30 and step-up ring to 52mm at $7. For day to day use, I have bought the 41 to 37 lens tube with UV filter to reduce the Flash shadowing.

:)

Don't know is Oly original or compatible leh. The guy just said 41 to 43 plus step-up ring, so I asked him CLA-1 ah and he kind of say ia loh ia loh. He is too busy selling Adam the new toy and he made it at the end. So may be in view of Adam potential purchase, he simply quote best price just to get rid of Blitz and me so he can focus on persuading Adam. He didn't even know he doesn't have stock (may be he know so quote lower, hehe). HE did sound sincere to ask us to go back next week when the stock arrive.

We paid $55 for the lens cap, UV filter and lens tube. Probaly around $35 or $40 for the tube.

Wah! WC still got vignetting, I hope that is not Vitacon. John show us a Vitacon WC that come with a close-up or macro function as well around $110.

Cheers--

:)

Hee maybe next month I will get either a TC or WC :D

Any suggestions Kevin, to get the Vitacon one or spend more money buying CLA-1 and the TC/WC ?

Hooray.... my 100th post too :D :gbounce:

WC should be OK on 37mm I think as long as they don't create Vignetting. When Leslie show you the 37mm Vitacon, do you see any vignetting? For TC, don't know leh. Sound like using CLA-1 with C210 also get vignetting. Not sure c180 better or not. Look like we have to go and test it out 1st. :(

Hi All,

I saw a very interesting discussion going on..

After reading so much discussion on the UV filter TC extra...I am thinking...and thinking...

;)

So Kevin and Blitz got they set at ard $55...

Blitz: you didnt go back to John3:16 to buy your stuff?...I think they will definitely allow you to hands-on

Kevin: pardon me for not knowing....what DC u have?...same as us 2040z?

Yeah think we should go back and test it out one of this days. I actually did not see that carefully that day :(

but usu i dunno to take the shot in auto or manual mode...

have u found out how to make the a/s/m to default to manual?

so now with the adapter and filter (is it hoya uv filter?)...how do you find your newly dressed 2040z?...
Can it still fits in the case provided?

Thanks Kevin,

I have been rather busy this few days..sorry for not replying..

Anyway did u get wha t u wanted?...How much is the lens adapter and where u bought it?

When are you guys going for the training?
I am interested too as I am still quite a newbie..

Is the training held in the evening?
Yes, Blitz and I get the lens cap, Hoya UV filter and Lens tube (41-37mm) for $55.We were at CP ealier that Wednesday but they don't have stock for the CLA-1 (41-43mm) only have stock for the step-up ring and filter. I worry about the Flash shadowing effect so got the 41-37mm lrns tube instead from John.

If you are interested in the c210, can get the CLA-1 with a step-up ring from CP and I think the package is less than $110. They suppose to have stock this week.

With regard to the training, don't know yet. The trainer will contact us to inform us about the class. You need to fill the registration form and fax it back to Oly with your Warrsnty card and receipt together. I have got the form for you but don't know how to pass to you. Is there a fax number that I can fax to you?

Cheers--
:)

p/s. sorry for repeated info as I copy from another thread. Don't know which thread Volk will read 1st, hehe.

Hi Kevin

Thank you so much for helping me to get a form.
See your pm for my contact number.

Oh, so you both got the 41-37mm tube and not the CLA-1.
Does it mean that the Hoya filter is a 37mm one?

how much for the 37mm UV single coat?

A Hoya 49mm mono-coat UV guard filter costs abt $8......logically 37mm should be cheaper.

I think you mention that this filter available at MS Colour for $8 but we pay $15 at John. :( Well, good old John is always more expensive for the better service (John change a new DC for me without qns). CP quote me $10. MS Colour is the cheappest.

Jayan, I don't think 37mm filter is cheapper than 49mm (don't make me feel so bad lah) as 49mm is more common. My old SLR take 49mm filter directly. In fact the 37mm I bought from John is inscribed "Video" on the ring???

Ok lah...diff brand and size and rarity of the filters will affect it's price...but logically the samller the filter the cheaper it is cos need lesser time and costs to mfg.

BTW, the word "video' is there cos 37mm filter are meant more for video-cam....

the "smallest" filters are actually more expensive. 37mm and 43mm filters are generally more expensive than 49mm or 52mm ones. But 49 and 52mm ones are cheaper than the larger-sized.
