I looked at this lens but none was in good condition so I picked the Nikon 28f2.8 ais. I love 28mm (42 fov)on NEX as that's all I need most of the time. The A7/r is high on list to add to my NEX but I am in no rush, and yes, your experience is going to benefit me as your shooting style is very similar to mine and I like your photos most of the time. I am most interested to see how your 85 - 135 lenses will perform on your A7 plus also if you have any 40-43mm range. Photos of your nice looking kids will be best.
I have the FA43ltd.
Also have the DA40XS (but I only have 2 lenses w/o aperture ring, so I'm too cheap to buy an adapter for it)

My advise is to get the A7 (non R)
The shutter is more quiet and response is faster.
I am already having small PC issues when juggling the 24mp files (don't have a good pc so YMMV).
36mp is attractive, but to what end?
I don't want to handle 36mp of repeated takes of my kids running around.
Those who want sharp sharp and only sharp, the Sigma DPxm series cameras offer much more of that for less cost and size.
