From my recent trip to the North Island, New Zealand. All shots using Leica 19mm R, 2nd ver. This is my favourite UWA for landscape.

this is really nice! did you use coloured filters/polarisers?

No polarizer or filter. Just convert to b&w and tonal adjustments. This place is Cape Reinga, the northern most point of the North Island. It is the meeting place of 2 seas, Pacific Ocean on the right and Tasman Sea on the left. I was planning to shoot the sunset, but storm clouds started to move in and by afternoon it started to rain.

Unfortunately, in early Oct., the weather is highly changeable and I had many days of cold, cloudy sky and rain.

so envious of all ur top notch Leica lenses. The price of these hv jumped up quite a bit over the past year. Too bad I did not jump on the bandwagon fast enough.

4 image pano. This is taken out of a old aircraft window so both resolution and WB takes a hit. Still can manage after some pp.

Most of my R lenses are pretty old, some nearly 30 years. The newest lenses I have are the 19mm, 35-70mm and 180mm. The prices of the M lenses have gone up even more! Therefore, it is actually cheaper in the long run to buy Leica lenses as you tend to keep them longer and their prices might even go up. Master the lenses, not master buying and selling!

Great pano.

Here is another from the NZ trip, again with the 19mm,

It is funny. My Leica R lenses are in excellent conditions that I cannot bear to break them in. I sold them off, hoping to pick up beat up copies at cheaper price that I will actually bring out in the field. Within a few months, the well used copies are going for more than the the price that I sold. I didn't want to look stupid :) so will give Leica R a miss. The Elmarit 90 is my sole remaining Leica lens. The M is altogether a different thing. Tempting but let's see what Canon is coming out with their mirrorless. I do want to have the flexibility to AF when necessary. And there are rumours it will be APS-H. Will wait a while longer.

Olympus OM 35-80. This lens has the colour depth and richness of Leica, the smooth bokeh of Sigma and perhaps a bit of the pop of Zeiss. An amazing lens.

With the new Nikon and Canon superb AF camera offerings, no one shoot manual focus anymore? This thread almost sink into oblivion. Give it a bump.

I almost let this excellent portrait lens go. Good thing I rediscovered why I picked it up in the first place. Mamiya M645 150/2.8 A adapted to 5D2. Re-ignite the love for it. It's smoking!

Wide open.
