Old/alternate lenses, adapters, and lens mount conversions.

actually, they re all shot on a D700. used to shoot film for the FF format.. but havent touched it since i went FF. i always had problems scanning the films which is the biggest turn off for me.. if i do find a good bellows with slide copier, i might start using an F2 again and use the d700 to 'scan' the positives.

i am, however, upping the stakes and making my own 6*17cm panoramic camera which uses 120 film. should be done within the month.. stay tuned =) (ps, if anyone has a 5*7-capable lens at around 100-150mm fl i d be interested =))

Hi Ben,

Nice to see you contributing the latest pictures. Btw, are you shooting film and then scanning them into digital? The last few pictures looked very nice and clean, almost like digital. Care to share how you digitise the pictures?

Thanks in advance!

For the size, weight, price and constant f4, this lens is truly value for money if one appreciates manual focus. Hunt down the OM 100f2 and you will be over the moon.

ohh i already had canon 135mm... used a canon 100mm before but find this focal length too close to my 135mm so dun think i will be looking for a 100mm hehe. but thanks for the recommendation and advise! :D

Anyone knows if I can find mount conversion service in Singapore? Most likely C/Y to M42. Leitax is a bit expensive...

I just did a short article with some shots on the Minolta Auto Tele Rokkor PF 100mm F2.0 over at the Sony/KM forum. Do take a look.

Thanks Anthony! Would try to get some shots to share here using my crappy adapter, well...at least until I can get my hands on a mirrorless cam! ;)

Asahi SMC Takumar 55mm f/1.8, converted to Nikon mount and shot on D7000 :

@ f/2.8 the hexagonal bokeh is quite noticeable

Sharing some shots taken with a Sony A33 and a Tele Lentar 105mm F2.8. It is a preset T-mount lens and is presumably made by Tokina based on the info I found. It is a very small and petite lens with either 8 or 9 aperture blades forming a near circle. Pretty sharp at wide open. Bokeh seems pretty good to me....what do you think?

Mirex T.S adapter, Mamiya 35mmf3.5N, 5D2.
I killed my T.S adapter in Iceland, the shift mechanism got locked permanently.
Probably during one of the sandstorms some grit must have gotten into it or watever

Pano stitched with 3 jpgs.

Bought a Yashica ML 50mm f1.4 (C/Y mount) (reputable to be slightly on par with Carl Zeiss) to be used on my 5DMKII.

Quite pleased with the results.

All shot wide open at f1.4

great shots! i was wondering where do u bring ur lenses for mount conversion? im thinking of converting my fd to ef mount so i can do away with the adapter. thanks in advance.

o do conversions, but not in the country at the moment. fd-eos is pretty complicated though. which lens do you want to convert? might have mirror clearance issues

Leica R 90/2.8. Small enough as a short tele travel lens.

slight handshake blur. You can see the colour is really rich with these Leica lenses. f2.8 is also good for travel as I don't want to blur the background beyond recognition.

Excellent wide open already. In fact most of my shooting with this lens is done wide open. So do not really need to do stop down metering.

And there is enough 3D pop. Sssh...don't wake the man.

Olympus OM 21/3.5.

Wide open, this lens has the old rustic charm. This is becoming my fav travel lens.

The kids love this little lens as you need to get really near for their attention.

The adults love it too. This man love it so much that he did a "cling, clang, chang" with his tiny cymbals in front of me.
