There is something else though. If m4/3 goes FF or Zeiss ZM lenses are priced lesser than the ZE counterparts, I might consider going that way. But that will be another 2 years later.

You're right, in 2 years time, m4/3 should be the way to go. I am still experimenting my film system and am not very satisfied with the result I am getting out of my OM system, not so much the lenses, but the camera. The metering system is old and rather inferior compared to today's standard. I have looked at film shots with both the later Canon and Nikon film cameras and the results are simply outstanding. If I can lay my hands on a reasonable good Canon EOS 3 or 5, I may want to stick to film for a longer period, maybe 2 years, and hopefully, m4/3 will be good enough to take over.

At least with RF, you'll tend to be more selective of lenses, partly as M lenses are more costly and of course, the framelines... on the positive side, M lenses are typically smaller in built, so that same drycab will accomodate more M lenses! :bsmilie:

May take a while more for the price of M8 to come down... in fact, the value of the epson RD1 is still going strong, hovering around $2k in the used mkt!

Seem a 1.8k one on used market quite some time ago. The problem for RD1 lies more in how many are selling in used market.

Have you ever compared your 50N with your former CY50f1.7 for such lanscapes? Yes, your sensor is definitely too dusty, just blow them off.

I have looked thru all my picts and amazingly, I have not used the CY50/1.7 for something similiar. I would assumed at f8, it will look very similiar.

bumping up the thread, and sharing an old take with the M645 mamiya 35mm f3.5

* after using these old Mamiyas t/s cross adapting, i tend to find their oof more softer and a more gentle gradual transit to focus than the newer nikkor pc/pce lenses. My guess is the older formula non digital lenses while lacking in clinically tact sharpness compared to the newer gen, might have given an advantage to the "softness" To be fair i have not cross adapted the newer AF mamiya lenses ( costly, and i am not sure if it even adapts properly ) Like what everyone mentions, old lenses have their character!

Excellent. Love the old Mamiyas that I had but they were mostly the SLR lenses. The one I regretted selling most was the Mamiya Sekor 55f1.4 which I used to take this shot of my cat Tami shot on my 40D. The lens did not clear my 5D mirror with my m42 adapter.

While AF chip is easy to use, I would prefer a mod split screen or a enlarger. What the chip does is only tricking your camera to think that a correct AF lens is mounted on the body so the AF system on the body can work. In short, as long as it looks like it isn't going to break and the chip works, any chip will do. Which camera system are you using?

Optix v5 is excellent and you can get it only at ebay. I have tried those from Tagotech without any problem.

The adapters with chip are all quite the same, the additional functions doesn't really have much use. End of day, all we need is able to use it on another body with focus confirmation. From my POV, it isn't really worth spending extra cash on one when you can get it easily and cheaper from places like OP ( I guess only, better give them a call to confirm first). China made but still good with the working chip.

The presence of beep is assuring. Other than that, the AF chip can also be use for micro-adjustments on 5D2. However, in the AF mode, the shutter button is locked until you achieved AF confirmation. I prefer to set it to MF mode, which I read is less accurate than focus confirmation in AF mode.

I think the dandelion chips from Tagotech are good enough.
