Some samples: Sigma 19, removed rear baffle. Digital zoom to 1.2x so no cropping is needed but only can use Xtra Fine and smaller file format. Raw is not possible in this setup. Cheers.

I had a look at the full sized samples.
Are you on a JPG workflow?
(I guess it must be since the auto 1.2x crop works only in jpg mode)

The in-camera noise suppression is too strong or something in the workflow is compressing the jpg quality strongly.
The Rokkor shots seem fine, so perhaps it has to do with the A7 in-camera handling of this 'auto-crop'

I hope my comment does not come over as offensive.
Appreciate your kind provision of samples.
Just want to caution you on something you may not have noticed.

All d samples are in flickr. I agree that something have to be compromised to use the digital zoom on Sigma 19, probably on what you have mentioned...

Again, thanks for the samples.
Appreciate it.

I find the sharpness comparable to CV at F2.8.

A chap done his own comparison between the two lens, no clear winners , each has its strengths and weaknesses.

Some forum comments in Dpreview on the two lenses too.

But the FE 55mm clearly is a durian cutter lol

This is my own comparison (of cos not perfect), but enough for me to cross the FE35 out...

CV Bokeh @ f2.8 (Ok not rounded but why would shoot at 2.8 when you can go 1.2?)

My own personal conclusion:
FE35 not sharp enough... Horrid Onion Rings... Washed out colours...

I also decided to stick with cv 35/1.2 rather the buy the fe35 when i had the chance. Most likely they didnt release a faster 35 so as to avoid pissing of rx1/r owners and also to make those cameras still worth buying eventhough is at a higher price
