Anyone can enlighten me about this setting in the A7 -

Exposure Comp Set - Ambient OR Flash / Ambient only?

I tried googling for it but could not find a link that would answer my question. What does this mean?
Thanks!

does it mean that although i shoot in raw + jpg, if i use LR to import, i can only import (or see) my Raw files?

that will also mean that if i want to just post the jpeg pictures, i can't?

Actually there's a workaround, if you really only want to import jpeg into lr, insert the sd card into your pc, browse to the folder where the images are, then copy out manually, this way you'll only import jpeg and not raw into lr, this is one method I know of, maybe the rest can advise as well

. . . which is why I start with Image Data Converter. My Lightroom is v. 4.4, which won't open the A7/R's .ARW files.

Anyway, I like my results better when I apply some of Sony's creative options in IDC before I convert to a format I can import into LR.

IDC is a pain to use :(

Otus is the clear winner...

Fast lens... The SLR Magic seems much better than the Noctilux.

You should check out the other site reviews of the Noct and Lux. There are also comparisons with the SLR Magic.

Yup, I agree. I get the pinwheel at startup on my Mac Air, and it sometimes crashes for no apparent reason. It's slower than molasses in processing and saving changes in individual RAW files.

Fortunately it seems stable (but still slow) when I do batch application of image process settings. And it works in the background without crashing while I do other things. The main thing is that it enables me to get Sony's superb color depth and contrast in relatively lossless files that I can open in Lightroom or PS, which is where I do most of my PP'ing.

You can batch process? I didn't know that

No SLR Magic lens for us to test later... but we can do our own conclusive 50mm shootout later ya... Cheers...

Can anyone teach me how to set C1 or C2 with + zoom preset?, can't find any answer online. Or is there any such setting. Thks.

The perimeters allowed for c1 and c2 are very limited, don't think zoom can be set..

Menu Button > 2nd top icon (i think) under camera settings > Custom Button Setup (i think)

My camera's not with me

yeah... quite a fair bit online touting the SLR Magic performing better than the Noct... Not bad for a lens made in Hong Kong.

even if the Noct is slightly better than the SLR, I think the price difference alone already puts the Noct in a huge disadvantage.

Most of the SLR naysayers online are those holding on to a Noct... I guess they must be pissed that a cheaper and unknown lens is outperforming theirs. lol...

If price isn't a concern, obviously I would pick the Noct over the SLR. Not because it's better, but because of the heritage of the Leica brand and the fact it will make everyone green with envy... hahaha...

If you come to Hong Kong, I can take you to a place to "test drive" the SLR magic...

Tks to bro ricleo in helping me modifying d sigma 19mm n set zoom function on custom button. Now I can use it on ff at around 21-22mm wif no vignetting n its very very sharp across d frame. Cheers.

Sry for the misunderstanding. That is the setting I'm talking about. Thks
