You can turn it off as you could with previous models.

The A7 still contains front and rear curtain shutters as the A7R.

And so when electronic first shutter is used instead of mechanical first shutter, the a7 shutter mechanism moves less vs the a7r with no such option.

Stocks are very very tight in HK now. Demand is still so high that it will be hard to get a good discount.

Then gotta walk around and try my luck when I am there..

Any idea if the A7 comes with an adaptor to allow you to use your old Sony flash?

Different OS.

Yeah? Can you be more specific? I expected the A7/R just to be another ARM based camera like previous models with a similar OS and a new UI as usual. Kind of stupid if the platform differs that much that you loose app compatibility. Actually I doubt that. ;) They probably just need to update the app. Hopefully...

Only if you turn it on. You can't rate the life expectancy differently because of an option some people never turn on.

It is a by default on feature that you have to go in the menu to switch off. Not on.

Doesn't matter, it shouldn't affect the manufacturer's rating no matter what's the default. Anyway, I don't see why that should affect the lifespan at all. Your rear curtain will still have the same lifespan and they don't break it down into front and rear lifespans.

Hihi,

Sharing a video on AF with A7 + 28-70mm kits lens

Seems to hunt abit when using 35mm focal length

28mm seems usable though

The wider the easier and the differences between those distances aren't very large.

Well the A7/A7R does not use the sony NEX OS, but rather uses the SLT/RX style OS. So it could just require an app update, or could be more. This depends on the differences between the kernels.

Voigtlander launching helicoid adaptor for M to E Mount like the Hawk's Factory but at 289 Euros.

Seems fine if the quality is better than the high end adapters LensRentals tested.

Steve Huff latest report on the high ISO test with the A7, A7R, Leica M240 and Oly EM-1.

If I would take his Ken Rockwell like test as a benchmark I would choose the Leica M.
