Cannot comment leh... Wait she frequent this thread, I kena blacklisted how? Drag my A7 collection for a month I sianz liao... :bsmilie:

As if she'll ask for your CS nick when you're picking up your cam :bsmilie:

Alright girls, please keep it civil in here :)

LR has lens correction profiles. :-)

Though cornerfix is very very good.

Lens correction profile is useful if the correct lens is available for correction. LOL. Cornerfix is great but if the magenta cast is quite serious, u will lose details at those corners after correction

U never know.... She could a sleeper mod in here lurking around... *conspiracy theory* :bsmilie:

who knows if they get enough cameras in, maybe walk in also can get the camera bodies like HK

Why less? The A7R has a mechanical first curtain shutter.

Hey, the kit lens is available separately finally: http://www.sony.de/product/ddl-full-frame-lenses/sel-2870

Now this electronic / mechanical shutter is getting to me. Does the A7 electronic shutter have an option to turn on and off?

"Some cameras use both a mechanical and an electronic shutter! In these cases, the electronic shutter is used to supplement the mechanical shutter by providing features like a faster flash sync speed where mechanical shutters are just not fast/accurate enough."

Everything about A7R point to better IQ:

"Most digital SLR cameras that use a mechanical shutter, however, use the mechanical shutter to control the amount of charge accumulated on the sensor as this simple mechanical device can be used to simplify the circuitry on the sensor itself thereby generally improving image quality and reducing noise."

Then I read this and panicked about the electronic front curtains especially when using non native mount lenses.

referring to NEX,
“When you shoot at high shutter speeds with a large diameter lens attached, the ghosting of a blurred area may occur, depending on the subject or shooting conditions. In such cases, set this item to [Off].”

“When a Minolta/Konica Minolta lens is used, set this item to [Off]. If you set this item to [On], the correct exposure will not be set or the image brightness will be uneven.”

And if both A7 and A7R uses different shutter curtains, wouldn't the lifespan also be different? Now where is the specs sheet on shutter count?

this dpreview thread seems to suggest electronic first shutter helps reduce vibration and has a positive impact to image quality at a pixel peeping level.

shutter life wise... could be a good point as the A7R shutter needs to move more compared to the A7 shutter?

should be good but the size will be overkill being a full size dslr lens.

I agree with that completely, the same thought ran through when the Sony dudes at the preview told me that I could easily get an adapter and get FF A-mount lenses on the A7 after I enquired about wide-angle lenses.

as for me, i'm just gonna wait out till the UWA arrives. i do hope that it'll be a Zeiss. maybe a 16-35mm F4? i wouldn't mind having that.

You can turn it off as you could with previous models.

The A7 still contains front and rear curtain shutters as the A7R.

Surprised this one doesn't work with the A7/R.
