I was just wondering how the Samyang 35 1.4 will perform with FE, apart from lacking AF, I think Samyang has very promising glasses so far.

should be good but the size will be overkill being a full size dslr lens.

I guess this test settles it. There is smearing and purple cast on even the A7 with the CV15 on A7. Now to rethink whether to get A7, A7r or not at all.

actually this test shows and confirms my choice of the A7 is suitable for me. CV15 aint that bad on the A7 vs the A7R. but looks like corner-fix is a program needed for UWA lenses on the A7. 35mm upwards i think the images on the A7 look much better for corner performance. 21mm F4 is probably widest angle to get with almost no purple.

The out-of-focus areas look very busy and green fringes are surprisingly saturated.

well it is a 35mm and F2.8. I wouldn't expect very good bokeh with this type of busy background. even the famous sigma 35 1.4 will not fare that well in these situations.

Some bros said Sony staff told them it would be but I AM wondering how come no pre order of it is available...

So I don't like how A7/R works with my non-Sony lens when it worked well with my NEX-7 and called it as I see it. If you don't agree and feel the need to correct me go ahead. Thanks for the info...mind sharing with me what program do I need to fix the purple cast issue? If it's just a simple (automated) software fix then it's no big deal. Asking as I never faced problems such as this so not sure what to expect?

Lightroom and Photoshop. They have ready profiles for these lenses as they also had magenta and cyan cast on the Leica M8

U can't fix it in LR. U need to export from LR into DNG format and import to another software call CornerFix to remove the magenta cast. Quite a troublesome workflow. :bsmilie:

LR has lens correction profiles.

Though cornerfix is very very good.
