good price for the A7. time for my first investment into the Sony FE mount!

That doesn't prevent Sony SG from putting an A7 and an A7r on display at Wisma or to announce the pricing more than a few hours before the products hit local shelves.

Unless Sony SG is a separate entity from sony Asia, in which case they have their own "promos" to figure out. Just look at the cellphone division, other countries get free charging docks, etc, only sony sg gives out dinner tickets.

Prices are out.... Yeahhhh

A7R(body) S$2799
A7(body) S$1999
A7(with FE 28-70mm lens) S$2399
RX10 (with 24-200mm f/2.8 lens) S$1599.

A7 price is good, though the kit lens seems a bit overpriced. A7R seems to be a bit excessive considering production cost shouldn't be that much higher. Anyway, still reasonable prices.

Yes the prices are quite reasonable. Now i am thinking should i do the change.
My Nex7 is serving me well and simply love what it can do. However my hunger for better quality grows as this tread grows... Haha

Too good to resist. Very timely release to grab our AWS haha

Edit : no pricing for the 35mm prime?

Wow nice prices. Hope the 35mm price be out soon as well.

So will A7 cannibalise the Nex sales & the RX1 sales? I think so. But that is progress. Sony is a company that dares to do this.

NEX maybe a little (not every one willing to pay more than double for ff), RX1 quite a bit I imagine. Yes agree that Sony is brave enough to do this. I have always felt canon/nikom has not been serious in developing their mirrorless range so as to protect their dslrs. Do they really believe at least some of their users will simply jump ship?

Sony has got money to throw..... Lots and lots of it.....

I wonder within the next 6 months, will we see a series of Ff mirrorless cams from the major makers.

Sony probably push them to release these designs earlier. If not they will continue to milk consumer with evolutionary updates then revolutionary ones.

Huat ah. Hope Sony get some head start but daring to push the envelop ahead.

The m43 camp (oly and pana) won't - if they didnt do aps-c why would they do ff? Canonikon wont as they need to protect their dslr. So Sony will be the only mirrorless ff for at least the near future - just as they were - and still are - the only mirrorless aps-c.

They aren't. Samsung, Fuji and Canon also have mirror-less APS-C systems (OK, Canon is actually APS size).

Thought fuji also apsc?

Sorry, my bad. In my defence samsung at the moment, at least to me, is not in the same league and canon is not serious enough about their aps-c mirrorless so I doubt very much they will do an ff mirrorless until they feel they have "no choice".
