One problem is the FE lens are named using SELxxxx which is same as the "normal" e mount lens. I see lots of confusion in the future.

Now this is another option for those who do not need 36MP and wants PDAF, yet do not want the AA filter.
I am going for the kit lens set. Have to factor in adapters cost, so will avoid lenses with a "Zeiss" on it.

Chk out the Voigtlander Primes in SL (Nikon mount)... I have the 20-40-90 trio...and just buy a Fotodiox adapter....Of course its all MF but you get great build quality and sharpness that rivals and may even surpass the Zeiss...Now this is another option for those who do not need 36MP and wants PDAF, yet do not want the AA filter.

OH and just because the Sony may be made in Thailand does not mean it will be any cheaper here... many of the Nikons are made here but its still cheaper to buy them out of NYC or Amazon... not sure why though...:dunno:The FE will be the differentiating faxtor
I just send email to Sony hk,quite nice folks they have. Just mailed me the international warranty slip or something

i dont think it will cause confusion. You could still use the lenses be it FE or E mounts.
After a while, it should be clear that 16-50 is for apsc and 24-70 is the FF equivalent. Just like the alpha lens line up which are also SAL XXXX.
Some peeps may want to use the 24-70m on their Nex 6, 7 =)

Yup. The early shots for the 35mm F2.8 is very good. It seems like the existing 10-18 F4 e mount lens also work on the A7/A7r too . So there is already a good lens line up covering wide to zooms, plus the 35mm , 50mm and rumoured 85mm . Enough to make me happy. Cheers

Yeah for the zoom and wide angles it may be quite obvious. But primes like 35mm are less so.
When we walk into a shop and ask "Do u have 35mm for sony e mount?". We will then need to either add f1.8 or f2.8 to determine whether it's nex e mount or ff e mount or to say specifically which mount. I also forsee confusion in BNS unless mods create a new mount classification.
I see that as a good thing isnt it , for a long time people has been saying E-mount lens line up is weak. Now we have the full frame and apsc versions. I think its a good confusion to have initially but that will be overcome easily in the long run. cheers. Buy and sell peeps just need to be mentioned its a fullframe e mount or apsc e mount lens .
