Official Sony A7 or A7r discussion thread (Season II)

Hi

I think the Sony A7/r system has a serious issue that Sony needs to fix!! Posting here to see if anyone can help

The original grand master plan was for my A7 to be just a complement to my digital rangefinder setup, using M mount lenses and other legacy lenses I already have (AFD nikkors) so that I can shoot 2 bodies both with M lenses - lenses can be used on both the A7 and my M9. However, as time passes, first it was the not so good but fun kit lens, then the LA-EA4 with a 85mm, and now this:

This lens cannot be used on anything other than the A7, yet it is too good to put down. Seriously, Sony needs to fix this problem of native lens proliferation in my dry cabinet!! It's locking us in!!!!!

Haha I call this the "mistress" syndrome . The versatility n ease of use of your a7 on the zoom can be refreshing , the zeiss primes are fantastic. Having your second system overlapping the primary must be " frustrating " lol but im sure the m9 wont mind taking a short break =)

hehe…. it's true….. AF and zooms can be refreshing after more than a year and a half of manual focus and prime lenses (the length of time I'e been shooting the M9). But interestingly, while on the M9 I mostly use the 35mm, with the A7 I find myself at the 50mm mostly - must be a function of how the 2 cameras "see" - OVF with framelines and EVF + SLR like viewing.

Hi, i am also using Deo Tech AF adapter and Metabones adapter on A7r. My Deo Tech AF adapter sometimes don't lock focus accurately so i will have to override it. Not sure if yours has this problem. I am using Contax G 35mm, 45mm, 90mm all works great on A7r, just love it.

No problem so far in good light. However, with the G90, I have to MF using the little knob for critical focus. Can you post some of your Contax pictures. Interested in G35 and G45 performance on A7r

Thats what i do when using Deo Tech AF adapter. Haha. I only shoot using G35 and G90 on A7r. The G45 i only test test only because i mounted it with G1 camera all the time. I had posted some at Sony A7/(r) image sharing thread, my pictures are uploaded from Facebook so IQ might not be the best.
