Hi,
This is my first post here and would like to ask your help / opinions. I just purchased a sony a7r from click! (funan) and also the a mount adapter and the zeiss 55mm. I have 3 sigma lenses: 12-24, 24-70 and 70-200 (this is actually tamron). Somehow, i'm not particularly happy with the a7r and seriously thinking of returning it back and purchasing an a99.
I'm seeing focus issues even with the 55mm, so i don't think it would be the adapters issue and generally i more or less have a feeling that this is a very expensive toy, not a professional stuff. The light metering is way out, the white balance is okayish and the focus is just totally not there. Focus tracking is useless as it track, though when you view the image in 100% you can see that its quite far from sharp and to be honest the only feature what works fine is the manual focusing.
Is it only me? Did i get a faulty copy? What is Your opinion? I guess after spending 5k on this package it not too much to ask for basic functionalities to work right?

It's just some out of focus issue. Bring it to Sony centre for rectification

hi! I'm new to a7. I need some help here, sorry for being newbie.
A7 kit 28-70mm is good. BUT, I also need 1 more lens lesser than 28mm! probably ~24mm. budget constraint, may I know what is the best (lowest cost) alternative for a 24mm lens for a7? (what brand, and what adapter to get). mainly for portrait(grp photo, etc.) and landscape.

thanks!

If you don't mind some cropped area (and only 10mpx out of the 24mpx on a A7), you can get Nex lenses to start with. Sony 16mm pancake and 16-50mm Pancake zoom will give you a nice 24mm wide coverage. Not perfect though, but probably the cheapest way. Mint set for used 16mm and 16-50mm are both around $150 in BNS.

Any other means will need budget for both adapters and other lenses. e.g. Voigtlanders CV12, CV15, CV21 are all great lenses (with some vignette or magenta casts though) but will cost 4-5 times more.

You need to tell us how much budget are you looking at.

How's sigma bro? I read some reviews Tampon was the best among 3rd party lenses in the same focal length

Dont think 35 1.4 will launch so soon.
I hope UWA would be 10-24/F4 this one should be very big haha

Hi ,

The camera has a lot of room for improvement but with the issues u mentioned , it's very clear it was a lemon. Try going back to Sony or the Shop to ask for an exchange if not send it in.

There's a very very active Sony A7/R thread here, so feel free to post there and I'm sure the bros / sis(Kei , I remember u ok! ) will help u too.

UWA zoom and Tele Zoom at f2.8 will be the best. *wishing*
