I rented the CZ85f1.4 recently and it's a very nice lens. Only complaint was the AF was terrible. Wish they will release an e mount version with OSS
Haha.. sorry buddy. Me old man got bad memory... Haha... I use flexi-spot with smallest spot in the centre. So far AF works very well for me. Read from other websites too on the focusing issues of some users. But nothing concrete on the cause. Was using 35FE and it is easier to get sharp shots in the beginning, and when I changed to 55FE, it took me quite a few shots to get used to it. After using for a day or 2, it becomes very consistent. So far I have no issue with mine. Tried indoor for CNY shots, as well as outdoors at Universal Studios. All sharp and no mis-focus. Maybe some other hiadees could share their experience?
Thanks bro could be the display unit also. For example I tried the laea4 Omg the mirror has finger prints :-( FE55 very nice lens I see how lolz
posted this in the image sharing thread previously. anyone with the FE 35mm can help comment on the corner sharpenss performance at F2.8 and F8? somewhat disappointing to me for a lens with the zeiss lens. full size available for view on flickr.
Those corners look ok to me..?doesn't..
i always believed the FE35 wasn't made to be a landscape lens. All the lab tests also mentions that center sharpness is superb but the corners aren't fantastic.
It was made for a small and lightweight (i don't think there's another 35mm this small with AF for FF) lens to carry around and shoot.
i don't think it's that's bad a lens...you can compare it with the canon L or even other zeiss and i believe center sharpness is better...
Having said that..look at the size difference...you ca't expect something this small to be out of this world. there's always a trade off but is it worth the zeiss badge..i definately think so..i really love my FE35...will i use it for landscapes and get sharp images throughout? NO...because it is NOT a landscape lens to begin with

hmmmm... so the corners on the full size flickr image looks the same as your FE35?
i just tried my friend's copy today and i have to say corners on his lens looks better than what i am seeing on mine. Anyway i have sent in the lens to sony keke.
btw my sigma 30 2.8, is sharper than this 35 FE in in on the left and right frame, even though it was not even meant to cover full frame! performance of the sigma at F4 is sharper than the sony at F8.
hi anyone tried collapsable lenses on the A7 eg: the leica or canon LTM lenses? any idea of they will scratch or hit the sensor?
