Another night-time attempt and I couldn't have picked a better timing with only a couple of arrivals that I could count with 1 hand and absolutely no departures to and from RWY 02L/20R during the 1 and a 1/2 hours that I had spent there, not to mention the majority of the terminal gates at the T3 North and South apron are unoccupied.

Some of my shots though most of them are badly taken due to the limited angle and since almost all of the "photogenic" terminal gates are empty. :embrass:

I assumed WSAB would be the ICAO code for Changi Air Base (East)? I don't see that as a dedicated and permanent military airbase installation especially with the plan proposal for the future terminals and extension to RWY 02R/20L.

Just to ask, there are also a series of TWYs leading into a separated section of Changi Air Base (West) just passed emergency exit "whiskey two" along the perimeter fence, with camouflaged and concealed hangers. Years of spending my time in WSSS and I have not yet seen a single aircraft or ground vehicle entering the area, are those remnants of the former RAF airbase and currently maintained for contingency purposes?

The reason I mentioned it is due to the fact that I currently stay in one of the HDB estates nearest to WSAT which is directly under the traffic pattern for aircraft approaching and landing into RWY 36 of WSAT. :)

I had previously attempted to snap a couple of photos of the Hermes 450 and Searcher Mk II reconnaissance UAVs, couldn't get a proper focus of the UAVs due to their size but they sure are as noisy as hell.

My prefer spotting location for WSAT is the stairwell between the 22nd and 20th floor of Block 210, Boon Lay Place even though it is a short drive from my home, additional details mentioned in this post. ;)

From my experience and observation, the greatest intensity of landing approaches into RWY 36 of WSAT occurs most frequently during the mid-morning (0900 hrs to 1100 hrs), afternoon (1200 to 1400 hours) and late evening (1700 hrs to 1900 hrs) with a interval of 2 hours in each "period" or "session".

With regards to the F-15SGs, I wouldn't worry about that since they will be introduced to our airspace in a year or two.

Changi East is WSAC, WSAG is correct and WSAB is my typo mistake; somehow my mind keep thinking Sembawang is "B"

Areas near whisky 2 ; Mike 2 & Mike 1 belongs to RSAF. Your hunch about contingency purpose could be correct. Our escort was particularly mindful of FOD on this 2 points on the TWY. W1 to W2 is a Emergency runway for the RSAF; I remember they did one excercise at Changi a few months back in that area.

Most of the time we spent on M2 & M1, the hangar next to the fence seems more like a ghost town execept for the occassional Land rover on patrol and the cameras.

You are right about shooting the UAV, it is really a challenge to get it. My take was directly under it at the cementary end and it was still small.

Hmm..., just as I had thought and it was also interesting to note the use of the TWY as an emergency RWY for RSAF fighters though the clearance limit between the edge of the TWY seems kind of restricted. Many thanks for the clarification, was always wondering about this almost every time I travelled along the perimeter road. :)

Haha, I have to accommodate my aircraft spotting session around my working hours, not that I had seen or touch enough of them during the day. :bsmilie:

Perhaps if I have enough free time on my hands, I'll be able to arrange a meeting then. ;)

Hi 9V-Orion, beautiful photos you have over there. Just curious, do you happen to be a member of Ninervictor(9V) forum?

Used to, but the 9V forum is extremely quiet now.

WHOA. thats a very sensitive aircraft in singapore. u might not want to be caught by MSD having those pictures. =)

it is a modified G550. longer endurance range than the e2c and further radar detection. looks good on the outside, but i cant say otherwise for the inside. wahahaha. sucks

btw, S/N: 016 is rsaf serial number.actual s/n is 5014

I served my NS with a rather sensitive unit so I'm extremely well aware of military OPSEC, and there is no violation of any Singaporean law especially with respect to the following legislations and statutes...

  • Air Navigation Act,
  • Official Secrets Act,

  • btw, S/N: 016 is rsaf serial number.actual s/n is 5014

Wow, thanks for the clarifications. :D
Are you from the Jaeger squadron? Sounds as if you're the pilot of 016. ;)

yup it is that registered number. =) cheers
im not the pilot of the plane, but somehow linked to it. haha
looks like u r quite an aircraft enthusiast.

Sure you're not a pilot after claiming that your "planes are fitted with the BR710 engines" in the other thread? :bsmilie:

My other guesses will be...

  • 111 Squadron Aircraft Technician,

  • RSAF Air Engineering Officer (AEO),

  • RSAF Weapon Systems Officer: Command, Control and Communications (WSO: C3) abroad the G550-CAEW,

  • Employee of ST Aerospace Engineering tasked with providing training to RSAF pilots with a G550 trainer aircraft?
:dunno:

Was at T3 Viewing gallery(quite "unviewable") for the first time today, saw the SkyTeam KLM, wanted to ask if anyone had any photos of that;p Guessed you answered my question. Thanks
