Official Plane Spotting Thread III

How will the EF 70-200 f2.8L IS USM do at the blue circle?

Is a tripod recommended?

Want to make sure before i rent the lens and try it out.

70-200 or 70-300 at blue circle is fine....

no need a tripod as you have more then enuff time to wait...

Dont drink too much water and make sure you have something to fill your stomach IF you are to be there for more then 5 hours. Btw, no toilets is there...so make yourself invinsible.

without IS one will do.
make sure your shutter speed is faster than 1/500 :)

I think this is a Dornier 328...

Your probably right base on the fins at the bottom rear on a internet search; for commercial aircraft I seriously can't tell the difference. I 'm only good at chancing on to odd planes that lands on our shores here and the Bombbardier Dash 8-200 was the closest base on tailcode search. It has Air Transport Int'l style of paint scheme without ATI markings.

It is through the collective knowledge of all enthusiast that we learn more each day on aviation interest.

Anyone can second this information.

I'll concur with SnapHappyDad, that's a Dornier 328-110 or more exactly an United States Air Force (USAF) Dornier C-146A operated by the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC).

It's registration number in typical United States Air Force (USAF) Air Mobility Command (AMC) format indicates that it was registered in 2011 with a Construction Number (CN) or Manufacturer's Serial Number (MSN) of 3031.

freighter shots from sunday

N599FE

B-2430
ex-SQ pax

B-5900
not too good shot but this Yangtze Express. look much like from HK airline.

9V-SFD
should be the oldest freighter in SQ cargo fleet currently

LX-VCC
GenX power!

A last minute reminder to those expecting United States Air Force (USAF) Boeing C-32A (B757-2G4) "99-0003" callsign: "SAMXXX (Special Air Mission XXX)" on the 16th or 17th of November 2012. It seems that we may have a Nightwatch inbound for WSAP as well?
