Borrowed a 50mm f1.8 from my friend, the bokeh is definitely awesome.

You've got to be kidding. Maybe you aren't used to the effect, and I do not deny that it is a really inexpensive way to get some images that a regular kit lens can't easily get, but the bokeh is certainly not awesome.

It is.. But i shoot in daylight only.

No link. Daylight shows off bad vs good bokeh even more. Bokeh is not out of focus lights at night

Depth of field is different. Bokeh will depend on lens construction and image composition, not f/1.4 vs f/4

I do have the budget for the kit 2, but i got the kit 1 with 50mm f1.4 to play with dof.
Got it for 449 which i feel is worth it. The f1.4 is awesome. Nice creamy bokeh.

Im playing ard with the 18-55 first before upgrading.
