In my opinion, I don't think that this is a bad photo. Yes, it is a little blurry but considering the distance and the fact that we are looking at a 100% crop, it is expected.
I would try the shot again with the same camera/lens combo in the very same location and in similar conditions (sunny and partly cloudy). But this time, put the camera on a steady tripod and turn the VC off. Take the shot with a 2 or preferably 10 second shutter time delay. Then compare the two shots and see if there is a big difference.
If possible take the exact same shot with a different lens, preferably a 17-55 or 15-85 (both of which are well known for their sharpness). Compare again with your former shot. This should give you enough information to tell if your lens has a problem with blurriness.
Of greater concern is the chromatic aberration in your photo. You can see strong evidence of it on the right side of the photo where the building sculpture meets the sky. This of course is easily correctable in PhotoShop.
Oh I see... So it is just me having to high expectations...
One thing I don't get though, u say turn of VC, what difference would it make?
Also, I don't have PhotoShop, can Canon's software do that?
If yes, how? Or can you refer me to a thread? I'm really blur at what the software Canon gave can do :embrass:
Thx!
