Official Canon EOS 60D User Thread Part I

I think people who dissect other people's statements word for word and overanalyse them should seriously get a life...

This isnt a freudian psychoanalyst therapy session my friend, its a photography forum!

Oh and maybe if you show me a psych degee that matches mine we can sit down and talk more about free associations =)

For a guy who keeps refreshing this page just to refute, you sure got a big mouth.

Your avatar fits your personality just nice. A psycho indeed.

I dont need to show off my degree for anyone's sake. Go hit the library or the debating forum if you wanna gain more knowledge about psychology. I dont need to be a psychologist to know you're not making sense.

well,no one even care about my problem...
even it is a official 60D user thread...

WOW what a loser, now u suddenly know my personality just by reading my replies? I surely have to meet you now man, even a seasoned psychologists isn't that good...

I dont need to go to a forum my friend... I, UNLIKE you, HAVE a degree in psychology =)

To TS; very sorry, lets get back to the 60D

Bro i dont get your 'horizon level' problem as i seldom shoot video at all. I doubt its your SD card problem, since it managed to record into your card in the first place. There are people whose problem lies with the SD card, but their problem was obvious that it was the card's fault since their card gave a error message on the camera, or the camera stopped recording by itself.

A probable reason why this happens is that your computer is not fast enough to handle full HD. I had this problem once when i used my old computer to load my 500D's HD video, but it turned out laggy. When i used my new laptop for playback, it worked well. Im not sure if its the same nature of your problem, but that's my experience.
;) hope i helped.

Yup do try it. It should work on a newer PC. Happy to help. ;)

Yup he is not worth my time anyway. Enjoy your new camera!

how? if top up 600-700 can get 7D....i really donno now...esp this reviewer said 7D not so good??
http://darwinwiggett.wordpress.com/2009/11/11/the-canon-7d/

The reviewer went through a series of tests and compared with lower end cameras with smaller megapixels. The greatest problem, i feel, about canon is that the megapixel count is on the high side, thus when squeezing more megapix, they are actually reducing image quality. Another reason why you dont hear much complain here, is that most people who post their images go through sharpening first, and all sorts of pp, thus veiling the fact of possible flaws. That is not to say you should believe the review entirely, as you must read it with an open mind. There are also tons of reviews praising the 7D, so who is right and wrong?

You can also say that the review was biased in some way, but it is a known fact that cramping too much megapixels ain't a good thing.

So before you decide on your big purchase, rent a 7D and do your own review. Then you'll really be convinced :)

for those interested in getting the 60D on 0% installment, cathay photo(peninsular) is selling at $1480(inc GST) without additional credit card charges:D

Just got my 60D last weekend, compare to 500D, weight is much heavier but it did balance out with my 24-105 lens.

Now thinking should I get the grip ?

Used to bought the grip for 500D cause the body too small for my hand.
With 60D, just nice for my hand, but the AA tray really useful when you used up the juice of the battery.
Which shop still carry them cause I having a hard time hurting for one. price too please.
Thanks alot friends.

I like his "tea " and " coffee" mix description for 60D :)

and THAT's exactly what I want from 60D, i useable video with still camera.

thanks

After watching the YouTube Video, it seems like there is nothing much to boast about for the 60D because it is simply an all-rounder camera with features coming from other EOS bodies, not much exciting features. As described by DPreview, it is a Super-Rebel.

Well, that's exactly what i need.
A good all-rounder with a low price tag.

7D has some really cool features ( almost 1 series features )
but I avoided 1 series precisely because i dont need them ..ie Continuous AF etc.
I rented 1Dmk3 to try, its nice but that's not the way I use camera.

So for me, 60D is exactly how canon understand my category of users. All-rounder camera
with a reasonable price to match.

Actually I am also considering the 60D for myself too. Nothing exciting but the features are just nice for me, but I am not sure what combo to buy as I am always out with my wife and 2yrs old daughter.

60D + Kit Lens (Maybe EFS 18-135 IS)
60D + EFS 17-55 F2.8 (Its faster and nice to have some zoom but it is heavy)
60D + EF 28 F1.8 (Fast prime lens for low light but have to do foot-zooming)

I have doubts about kit lens ever since the days when I started film photography in school, they do not give nice bokeh shots:think:

wasn't there a 15-85mm ?
I think that is a very flexible focal range. For holiday pics, that's hard to fault this lens
